You know... during the election, Levi and Bristol were used as examples of why advising abstinence had failed.
That's back-asswards. It wasn't the advice that was wrong! He represents the real consequences of the risk gals take when they think sex before marriage and sober commitment, sex before adulthood, is worth the risk... for a few thrills in the dark with some guy who you think is cute... this week.
Granted most girls don't face public humiliation on the same scale as anything Palin, but I think the consequences for any of us can still feel just as destructive on our own lives. I hope she still thinks it was fun! Levi: I'm Hiding "Huge" Things About Palin
But, in Exclusive Interview, Father of Sarah Palin's Grandson Tells Maggie Rodriguez He'd Rather Not Reveal Them

Levi Johnston, the father of Sarah Palin's grandchild, alludes to impropriety during her time as Gov. of Alaska in response to her comments about him. He tells Maggie Rodriguez he has nothing to hide.

(CBS) Levi Johnston says he's keeping some "huge" things about Sarah Palin from the public.
In Part One of a two-part exclusive interview with "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, which aired Wednesday, the father of Palin's grandson says, "There are some things that I have that are huge. And I haven't said them because I'm not gonna hurt her that way.
" ... I have things that can, you know -- that would get her in trouble, and could hurt her. Will hurt her. But I'm not gonna go that far. You know, I mean, if I really wanted to hurt her, I could, very easily. But there's -- I'm not gonna do it. I'm not going that far."
Well bless his heart...

Call me dumb and everything but what is teenage abstinence?

Oh dear... :innocent:
Telling teenagers not to have sex before marriage. :)
Some argue it's better to teach them to have safe sex because "kids are going to do it anyway". I'm not sure that's true! And I'm not sure that would have protected them from Levi Johnston :)

Cheval, I have a feeling it's just not a phrase that's used across the pond. They must call it something else :D

Some day it's gonna be in some distant lonely spot in Alaska... and it's gonna be just him... and Todd. And lots of acres.
This little twerp's fifteen minutes are just so over.

HA.... forget Todd... Get him alone with either she-Palin. I think they're tougher, and probably madder. ;)

Actually good on him for milking what he's got. You got to make money somehow. And if you don't mind whoring yourself out, all the power to you! You can make a nice chunk of change for a few minutes it takes to do a commercial. A lot of money for a kid is age.
And if the Playboy thing goes through, well, there's another few thousand in his bank. :)

Well, I suppose that's a good capitalistic approach ;)
I only lament that there's a market for it. There's some things we just shouldn't want to buy!

He's likely to get about 35,000 for showing his dangly bits. It's not necessarily that there is a female following for that though... if you get my meaning.

Ragnar - it's about doing it with protection. He didn't and ended up with a kid. So he's got protection while he does it (eats the nut) in the commercial.

Yeah, no... I understand that's what they're saying. But they're torturing the metaphor just a little far. It needed a little bit more work before they focus-grouped it, I think.

I don't know. If kids are aware then they can make their choices more wisely. It's better to know what is going on instead of thinking things like you can't get pregnant the first time or any other crazy thing out there. In a lot of cases, parents don't seem to be talking to their kids about sex. Which is unfortunate. The more they know, the better they can move forward and make the right decisions. Having someone tell them about sex isn't going to make them run out and have sex any faster than if no one told them anything at all.
And at least if they know they won't fall prey to some guy or girl pressuring them.

I agree, even though I don't have kids I think the more info people have on anything is a good thing. Problem is nothing is 100% and right now I know 4 girls who were on the pill and either had or are having babies. It's scary. I don't know if they are on medication that is cancelling out the pill or if they are forgetting to take it but babies are either born or are coming even though the girls thought they were safe.
I think that Levi guy is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame, I can't believe how the media loves him. Seeing him on the shows talking trash should also give young girls a hint about what some guys [girls too in some cases] will do, one minute they love you then they are ripping your family apart in the media [or neighborhood if your family doesn't happen to be famous!] We were watching something last night and Entertainment Tonight came on. They had an interview with him and I couldn't believe the things he was saying. I'm not really a huge fan of his almost mother in law but I do not believe what he was saying about her, what a little brat.
I guess she's going to go on Oprah and defend herself, she'd probably be better off ingoring his rantings, the more attention they give him the more he'll be talking. The interviewer was prompting him too [Do you think the Palens will get a divorce? Like how does he know but he had stuff to say] and I was thinking an adult really should know better than that but I guess not! Anything for a buck on both ends. I only had it on because I wanted to see the Patrick Swayze story which is just so sad but I can't say I enjoyed the interview with that little brat. I was trying to tune him out but it was hard. He's a father now you'd think he'd curb his tongue just for the sake of his baby, you know in the future someone will drag these tapes out and the kid will see his father ripping apart his family. Not a good thing.

People think that preaching abstinence is all it takes and that's the end of that...IF you want to preach abstinence it shouldn't mean that you still don't educate the youth on sex. It's crazy to me that people think "stay a virgin until you're married!" is enough.
obviously...one isn't going to get pregnant if you don't mess around...but there is a flip side to these situation when things do happen and you mess around and then there are two uneducated individuals making a decision about something they don't even understand.
