Yesterday the cows got in the pasture with the horses so I left them there while I went riding and would move them back later.......well when I got back Tucker was limping on his FR I thought maybe he got kicked or something so I just left him in the pasture and I went out this morning to move the cows and Tucker was still limping on it.......Jorie was trotting around and he was too but obviously still tender on it so I made a make shift stall from what is left of their stalls and Pearl and Tucker are on stall rest until Tucker quits limping.....my poor baby....

I think it is in his shoulder.....no part of his leg is swollen or hot that that is why I think it is in the shoulder.....I am not too worried about it but he is my baby so I am worried to an extent........

Good luck. I guess if you're not seeing improvement by tonight, I'd recommend a call to the vet to see if they'd recommend a little more sure of of a diagnosis and some kind of treatment.

I sure hope he heals up, what ever the problem is. Poor guy, give him a treat and a pat for me.

Are you going to give him some bute too??
If there is no change I agree with WB and would call the vet.
I hope he gets better soon.

If I don't see a change I will call my vet........don't worry.......my baby is in good hands.......I don't have any bute on hand but I am getting some in a little bit........but I really want to see what is going on.......he lets me stretch and bend his leg it is just weight that causes the limp. I cleaned his hoof and didn't see anything and I pressed and he didn't express any uncomfort.

Could be shoulder, could be a stone bruise, you wouldn't necessarily see that and unless you can put hard pressure in the right spot, he may not react.
I just don't like uncertainty... If I don't see it happen or know what it is. When you were stretching and bending did you stress the shoulder too?

I pulled his leg straight out and lifted up, bent all joints one at a time, then all at once, then I moved each joint from side to side, and then I took the leg as a whole stretched it side to side and then back. He didn't flench at all.........is there anything else that I could do? He has a pretty small hoof so I think I got it all pushing on it but he had no reaction to that at all.
I wonder if maybe he got kicked? Either on of the cows did or Jorie did in one of their playing sessions?

poor guy.. hope he gets better soon.. have you tried pushing on his shoulder at all to see if he is sensitive?

Yes I have....his shoulder is a bit warm but he didn't show any discomfort really.......

I know it's not easy to get them to tell you exactly where it hurts. Interpreting their jerks and reflexes and trying to make sense of them when nothing's obvious is a challenge.
If you think it's shoulder, I might try to pick the leg up and push 'up' at the elbow. See if that is a popular idea with him or not.

Yeah - hard to tell. Much of the fussing he did do looked more like "quit pestering me" than "ouch".
Weight bearing but just off on it and real reluctant to go, right? If you leave him alone does he hobble around or stay put?
I'd probably call if he's still off in a day. But I'm quick to get a vet out. Others are a little more conservative and do fine and lots of times "just wait and they'll heal" is the right answer anyway.

Yesterday he was more reluctant to move but today he is moving around more but still limping it isn't as bad as it was yesterday but still limping.......If he is still showing improvement I won't call the vet but if he is still limping tomorrow I will call.......
