Just an update....

I'd planned to have the new little mare home by now (well, "home" being my friend's hobby farm, where I'll be keeping her), but of course getting sick with the flu and then that turning into bronchitis and sinusitis sort of put my plans on the back burner :(. But, I just wanted to say it is still a Go, and hopefully within a couple weeks we'll get her to her new home. No doubt after the Thanksgiving holiday though. During the tests I had done when I was sick my doctor also discovered that I have asthma, so at least we now know why I have been so short of breath and why I had been struggling so much whenever I did any real physical type of activity (I'd get so short of breath I'd have to go sit down)....now at least we know how to treat that and we know what we are dealing with, I was really getting frustrated. Chest x-rays also indicated a pericardial cyst on my heart, so I do need to get a CT scan to further check that out, but we're thinking that may not be a huge issue (hopefully). It's so fun to get "older", LOL. ;)

I'm still wondering about a possible name for her, I like the idea of a Spanish name, so I've been looking online for ideas there. So, well, that's just my little update.... :)

Sorry to hear about your sickness, but good news about the mare!! I love spanish names. You know Sombra was my spanish may 5th baby. ;)

I'm a moon-type gal myself.... :) There was another filly in her rescue group that was later on named Luna, it was a popular name I think, there were a lot of cremellos and champagne horses in that rescue. Actually, no, wait.... there were actually two Lunas in the group now that I think of it.....LOL.

I think sometimes names come after you know them better. She's a really interesting looking horse. Needs a unique name that reflects that. :)

It's been a rough road with the health issues, I am really hoping that they don't interfere a whole lot any more.... but then I know I will always have some health issues due to a couple chronic conditions that I have..... so I am just trying my hardest. I go back to work Monday, looking forward to getting back to normal. I talked to the people I am getting the mare from, told them I was having some health issues and needed a little time before I got her.....they are being nice about waiting, so I'm happy about that. Like a friend of mine told me (he went with me to look at the mare with me), he thinks a horse will be good for me, and I do too. Getting back outside and working with a horse again, there's just nothing better than that.

I agree about waiting until after I get her for a name, I think then a name will pop out at me.... :)

Been looking up names online..... something to do on these boring evenings stuck at home.....lol....
(yeah, I know, I was going to wait..... ha ha ha...but I was bored tonite...)...
I always thought she was sort of the color of Chai tea.... tonite I came across the name Chaia,
(Chye-ah), it's Hebrew and means "Life".... kind of fitting.... hmmmm.... so, well, for now Chaia is
at the top of my list. :)
