I have been off her back for 5 months....until today!!!! I finally got to ride my girl. We just did some light work, worked on bending/flexing, whoa & leg yeilds. Touched a bit on neck reining, but not too much. She was a perfect little angel, 'specially for not being ridden in 5 months! After it was all over, I peeled the saddle off and painted her up WAR PONY style!! I had planned on doing that for Hallowe'en, but family circumstances didn't allow for that.
Her foot is slowly healing, but her vet gave us the go-ahead to start light riding again. I don't plan on working her hard, just working on things like this that can be done at the walk...but boy was it ever GREAT to be back in the saddle!!! :cowboy:
So, without further adu, here's Sierra the Painted Pony!

Thanks DS!! You should paint your horses up like that! I plan on making it a habit with Sierra!! We'll be the painted pony on the trail rides and gymkanna's!!

Must be such a nice feeling to be able to ride again. :)

Oh, it sure was nice!!! I was on cloud 9!! It's been so long since I've been able to even sit on her. I was talking to one of my besties tonight and I was telling her how nice it was to be able to ride her again. It's a sense of relief, that the end of this "injury" is in sight....thank GOD!!!!

She was so good too, for not being ridden in 5 months, she was a dream! It's almost like she was like "oh good, we're going to do something fun today for a change instead of you picking away at my foot!!" lol

lol! Sterling would look very cool painted up! I used just face paint. The poor girl is going to be painted up again, mostly because it was fun and I thought it looked cool! She'll seriously be the painted pony who goes down the trail with her feathers in her mane, white leather lace tied on, war paint!! Too much fun!
