I finally decided I needed to get some horse "stuff" lol, so I made an order from Smart Pak and Victory Canter, whooo crazy monkeys was it expensive! I did get lots of "stuff" though so I am super excited to get them. Niko has been on Omega Horseshine since I have had him (June) but it doesn't have Biotin in it and even though it is supposed to help hooves I thought I might try something different and see how it works so I got Glanzen 3, if anyone has any experience with this I would love to here from you! I also finally ordered his Neck cover so now I can clip him and he will be nice and toasty, and his lovely 26 inches of white mane will stay clean-er. I got him two new saddle pads as we only have one that we use regularly, one is chocolate with white piping and the other is *ducks* lavender lol. I also got the spray stuff called Wow Whitener, it sounds really good so I guess we'll see. Has anyone used this stuff either? Isn't it beautiful :D

My, sounds like you went and spent. ;)
Mitch is getting a new blanket himself, but that's all I bought for him right now.

Lol yah, I haven't bought any new stuff for a while and I don't like having just one saddle pad. And his neck cover was pretty much mandatory since I am going to clip him. :innocent:

I like the saddle pad! I haven't used any of the stuff, so I'm no help in that department. :)
I'm itching to go and spend... I have all my birthday money still! But I'm still debating between putting it all in savings or splitting it or using it so I can visit Dandy21. So many good options... :(!

gorgeous pad! i just bought one of those for a friend last year for christmas, she's in love with it!
yes this crap is expensive... and you ordered from two of the most expensive sites... introduce yourself to horseloverz.com. Gotta be a little carful not to skimp too much and get poor quality, but if you do they have a great return policy, no questions asked. But you can save alot with that site!
Also on the foot issue. I did alot of research when I had Parsnips on hoof supplements. And the end results I came up with after questioning the entire Equine Sciences department and pestering the vets was that for a hoof supplement to be effective it must have a minimum of 16% biotin and it must also contain the amino acids lysine and methionine for proper absorbtion. I was also instructed to use a hoof oil that contained Fish Oil.
So from this info I selected the Farnam HB 15 hoof supplement and the Farnam Shur Hoof Dressing. I used this daily on Parsnips and after 3-4 months could see an improvement in her feet. FYI she was barfoot.
I don't use the supplement with Fiddler, because he has great feet, but I do still use the hoof oil!

Its expensive, but it sure is worth it in the end. I love seeing new stuff on my horses, at least. Can't wait to see Niko in his new saddle pad. :)

oh boy new horses stuff.Yes it can get costly..I do alot of ebay shopping and Just bought 2 new winter blankets first of the week..I bought one last year from the same company on ebay and I really liked and it was a great price this time there was a free shipping from them so I was like what the heck Cash needs a new blanket and Rein's is looking pretty sad so I'll go ahead and get one for each..
Since we live in south Texas clipping is a must, most winter days here are in the 60-70 degree range with nights that can and do get in the 30's We blanket only on the cold nights . My husbands gelding Gunner already has a full winer coat this year.I think his brain is still stuck in Canada to wool up like he has.So a full body clip is in store for him this weekend..

I have my mare on the Glanzen lite product and so far so good. Make sure you introduce your horse to it slowly because as I found out some are definitely picky about taste and aroma. Good luck with all of your new goodies.

Sounds like you had a fun spending spree!
If the Glanzen 3 ends up being too expensive, try the Smart Hoof or Smart Hoof Ultra, lol!
Or, you could go back to the Omega Horseshine and feed strainght biotin along with it.
However, AUEquine is right about the amino acids. In fact, your big hoof building elements are lysine, methionine, zinc and copper at 3:1, biotin and flax.

That must have been fun!! Love the pad, even though he's a boy I think it will look really cute on him. :)
I love horsey shopping but I'd rather use some elses money sometimes...lol I actually made my Christmas list for my mom the other day and alot of the items were horsey! I love Holidays, I end up getting tons of stuff I need that I normally can't afford.
