Well, I'm aching all over from my ride yesterday.
No, seriously, even my kneecaps!

Haha, to pay for a whole day of horsiness, I'm going busking today with my friend in Durham. He's guitaring, I'm singing 8D wooo, money!!

Well, I had some crumpets and frsh orange for breakfast, but I'm sure I can dig you all out something else :) coffee for the caffeine nuts, courtesy of mum!!

Hahha :D Serves you right for taunting me Kitty ;)
Busking = ultimate fun :) I might be biased...but it is :p

I'll have some coffee please!

Nothing planned for today really. This evening I'm going to Tredegar House for their 'haunted house' night :) I'm either going as a 'scene' kid or a rockstar xD

Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning all....already? Short night, but I had to let the herd out this morning. Sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and coffee for me. Complements of my local corner store. Got to keep the cholesterol levels up where I can keep an eye on them ya know. Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks for the definition Pinky. Busking sounded like fun, but I didn't know if it was something that would kill old folks or not. We colonists don't understand some of the terms from over there. Or, maybe it's a word the kids use here too and I'm old as dirt and didn't know it. Oh well.:)

:D Busking is like going out with friends/band and instruments to play music on the street for random people :cowboy: ;)

It's quite a good way to 'recognised' and get gigs if you play in the right place :).

Morning. :::Yawn::::
It was a long night. I ended up going over to my sister in law's that had the new baby because she was worried that he was acting funny. He is also lucky enough to have gotten the cold/flu that we all have. I thought he looked a little odd and was lethargic, so I said I would probably bring him in if it were me being that he's only 2 weeks old. So, I stayed at their house watching their 2 yr old while they took the newbie into the ER. They didn't get back home until midnight. So I was alseep on their couch. Baby is fine. He has "breaskmilk jaundice" but it should clear up. She just has to make sure he keeps eating well and watch him with his cold.

Today the weather is supposed to be the "last nice day" so hubby had mentioned he would like to go for a horseback ride! Woo hoo!!! So hopefully that happens.

Gotta go and get the kiddos breakfast. And myself a mountain dew.

That's fun I'm sure...I don't think I would do that though, I play a 5 piece acoustical drum kit. Hey I can play harmonica though, I'll join you guys sometime when I'm in the Kingdom. Never been there yet, but ya never know. One of Diane's life long desires is to visit London. Maybe some day before long.

Don't feel bad, SundaysMan, I didn't know what busking was either, my son had to explain it to me this weekend when he was talking about busking.

I would love something to eat, had the pukies last night, almost tossed whatever was left a little bit ago. Trying some antacid tabs to see if it will cut down on the reflux. Maybe a Sprite and some crackers is in order. Bet your day is going better?

If you have the inclination you can get a drum kit anywhere ;). I've been busking with my band lots - 2 guitars, 1 bass guitar, full drum kit and a load of amps :D (and a mic stand...but that fits in my gig bag)

Come to Wales! I'm only a 4 hour drive from London. :cowboy: You could go and watch the rugby! :D

PR...c'mon now PASS THE CINABONS!!! I love those things. That's one of the few good things about traveling a lot. Almost every major airport has a Cinabon shop. Hot, fresh, gooey, sweet, with pecans. Oh man PLEASE, PASS THE CINABONS!!! I NEED one NOW!! Let's see, I'm an hour from the airport.....I could be back in under 3 hours...yeah that's it!

We may call you one day. I play with a 3 (sometimes 4) piece blues band. We have a ball at our gigs. Hey I could get the guys to start "Busking" over here. :cowboy:

What you need is a good ole Buffalo Rock or Red Rock ginger ale. Good stuff and will cure what ails ya. Hope you get to feeling better soon.:)

Good! If you come to UK a visit to Wales is mandatory :p. If you come in the summer there are hacks (trail rides...but more British:innocent:) through the Brecon Beacons ... http://blog.ratestogo.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/brecon-beacons.jpg

Quite a few people on here are in bands :) I wish I could play drums (never tried harmonica)
Before you start busking you might want to check it's legal in your area (state? town?...I don't know) otherwise the cops will move you on. :)

Thanks SM, I usually have some crystallized ginger on hand for times like this. I think I will be off to the Amish store for some very soon.

Pinky, that photo is gorgeous!

My hubby says the best way to learn to play harmonica is too pick up one and just start blowing! The rest will come.....and harmonicas come in different keys. Make sure you have one that doesn't have the reeds blown out or you will never sound right. Hubby's brand of choice is Hohner.

Here I am, sitting at a school computer, confused as to why the quick reply isn't showing up at the bottom. Duh - I'm not logged in.

I've had an Alexander And The Horrible, Terrible, No-Good, Very-Bad Morning (it's a kids book - go read it). I got my truck stuck in the driveway... my Dad (professional getter-outer of all things stuck) couldn't even unstick it. He doesn't have time to go get the tractor from Nana's house, so he's going to have a tow truck come and get it out tomorrow sometime. AND my coffee fell off my Mom's car while we were trying to un-stick The Yellow Wonder, so I only had a few sips. :(

Tomorrow morning I have to go with Nana and Papa for Papa's first chemo appointment (so I can take him by myself next time), then Nana and I are going to go vote and pick up her new freezer. The catch? The freezer certainly won't fit in her car.

I'm going home as soon as I finish this test, so I'll call Dad and ask if I can call someone and have it done today... 'cause tomorrow I need it! :whack: Maybe my cousin is skipping school and he can come do it. :innocent:

I forgot my calculator in my truck... I only went to algebra (my 8am class) this morning because we had a test! I was only 10 minutes late (which was impressive, because I got behind two very slow busses and left half an hour later than I usually do), but he didn't have a calculator to borrow, so I had to do a very calculator-oriented test without one until the last 15 minutes of the test. He wouldn't let me finish the last two questions.

After I turn in this quiz I'm going to leave and go to my grandparents' nearby to pick up something my Dad wants (What happened to my relaxing day?).

Anyway, I'm going to do this quiz now and leave, I'll catch up with ya'll later. I hope everyone has a great day, and I certainly hope no one's day goes downhill as quickly as mine did at 6am.

Morning all. Very stressful day here. One of my students has his leg broke by his brother and then his brother wanted to kill him and himself. They are also talking about cutting the budget hugely next year. AHHHH!!!!

Cane is good, Jonathan has a fun run today after school and then home to get ready for Halloween.

Just coffee for me.

Good Morning!!!
Slept great after watching 2hrs of Ghost Hunter. I wanna go to Alameda, CA to see the HSS Hornet! The episode from last night was there...losts of evidence! :D
Gonna take Hazel out on a trail ride and if I have time I'll take Grace out on a short one too, just to get her back in the mode.
Yesterday was my nephew's birthday, we went to an italian restarant (I can't be bothered to spell this morning :p) and had ice cream cake when we got home. He has been sneaking in building his new legos sets so we have to watch him like a hawk...legos before homework...at least thats what HE thinks it should be!

Not sure what I am going to have for breakfast yet...but coffee should FABULOUS!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone! Just enjoying my tea before getting to work here. The beagle has done her "work" for the morning and is settled in on the floor next to me starting her first well-earned nap of the day.

Have fun busking, Kitty! You should get video or at least an audio track of it for us sometime.

Morning everyone! Running late today- I'd beter hustle! It's the last nice day we'll have here until spring, and I've got tons to do outside. If it gets too windy, I won't ride, but at least the laundry will dry! One last line dried fresh smelling load of laundry until spring!

Had boring eggs, toast and sausage for breakfast, but I'm willing to share if anyone's still hungry!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning! Only an hour of morning left...This day is already going as slow as a slugg...I'm ready for another cup of coffee.

Had a fun Pumpkin carving party last night, some of us got pretty creative. I have pics in my camera but they aren't uploaded yet. They are pretty funny, lol. Weatherman is calling for possible showers today tonight and pretty much all weekend. I was planning on riding after work, I'll still keep that plan and hope the sky waits for me.

I'm off to go pick out a new Blankie for Biggs....my dad said I could pick out any blanket I want and send him the link and he'll get it for me for my B-day (Nov 22nd), I feel like a kid in a candy store! :)

I think I will go busking today with my dead friends- LOL>

I have lots of dead friends who wrote books before they passed over the river of life,

like King David and the old propeht Jeremiah.

Some of my dead friends are wiser than my live friends... LOL.

WE will all join the valley of the dead one day-
which is good if yer prepared- and not good ifn yer not prepared.

Have a good day mates. :cowboy:

ALOK- they never gave me a calculator when i did math-

I always found the wrong way to figure algebra.

Yeah, but they've never taught me how to do it without one! I can do basic math in my head... but logarithms and natural logs I have no clue about. My cousin can do square roots in his head - I didn't get those genes, but I do have spellcheck in my brain! :D

Good afternoon everyone!
I had an AWESOME day at school!
In religion, all we did was Mad Libs with the teacher, and they were soo funny, we never stopped laughing the entier period. In psychology, we watched Good Will Hunting. In spanish, we had a really hard test, but it was okay beacsue we get to take it home and finish it becasue no one was finished, so I have the weekend to do it. Tonight I'm going out for supper, then going riding, then I'm going to hang out with some friends afterwards. I hope everyone has a good evening! :D

Well, my day rallied well! I got a kind-of job!! A man runs a trail-riding place about two miles from my parents' house and I stopped by today when I noticed him there and asked if he knew anyone who was hiring (because I certainly figured he wasn't), and he told me he needed some help, particularly during the tourist season (aka: now)... especially Monday and Friday - which are conveniently the days I don't have class! So he'll be calling me whenever he needs an extra hand entertaining those tourists I hate so much. :p But YAY!!!!! I might actually have some form of income soon!!!!   :grouphug:

That sounds like a great gig...he doesn't realize his luck yet I'm sure!! I'm sure it will be partly comical, tourists on horses tend to be. We get to hear all the funny stories ok?? Congrats
