My friend just got 2 ferrets. She went to a sale and the people were moving and left them out in their cage in the garage while they were living in their other house. It's well below 30 degrees at night here so they've got the sniffles but otherwise are happy. They're underweight and severe dry skin. Was wondering if anyone out there owned any or had experiences with them I could share with her.

Fun animals... make a lot of mischief... and they smell a little musky. That's all I know!

She should probably go join a ferret forum someplace and tell them to tell her everything!

She did sign up for one but there's not many people on it. Some of the latest activity was back in 2008. I found a bunch of e-books for her to look up and different articles. They definately are mischievious and have to know everything you're doing!

Oh - I bet there's a busy forum somewhere with ferret people on it! She should keep looking!

I used to have a good online friend who has ferrets, but it was at another forum and I've lost contact with her.

I don't know if this is the board she joined or not, but I can see some activity on there as of today. The board is here: http://ferretfamily.proboards.com/index.cgi The lady that runs/owns it is into ferrets.

I don't know anything about ferrets, but they sure are cute! That was good of your friend to take them, the poor things sound as tho they were being neglected by the previous owners. I bet there are lots of ferret forums out there with some good info.

thank you pasolover..no that's not the one she joined. i passed the info on to her and told her to sign up. Yeah they are cute and into everything. i love watching them when i'm there. you open the cage door and they're climbing right into your arms for some scritches and lovings.

I have had some experiance. What are the questions, what would you like to know?? I will answer to the best of my knowledge. They sound like they could use baths and a good conditioning (People shampoo and conditioner work just fine) and generally they love the shower.
