Our mortgage is not locked in, we are on variable. Last yr it was 6.125, and it just dropped to 5.125. I would of done cartwheels if I could of, I was so very happy. Im still paying the amount I did this past yr, but it all goes for the good. Wohoooo.
We also got our insurance check back. We cancelled it, to expensive right now. That will go to the tax fund. I dont even wanna know what we owe this yr.
Hopefully we will get caught up on some things and can afford it next yr.
Now, lets pray the semi dosnt need any more repairs, there has been way to many these past few months.
5.125, 5.125 Im so happy!!

That's GREAT news. Maybe a good time to lock it if you could. However, they may drop it more. I guess it's like gambling. Oh well, I'm happy for yall.:)

That is great! Unfortunately unlocked rates can be like a rollercoater ride. Good luck to you!

Funny thing. We had a dinner Sat. Bob leases him and his semi out to a company, and the yearly saftey meeting was sat. We sat next to two realitors which the husband just started trucking, so this was his first yr at the dinner. They were saying how 6.125 is low right now, and Bob bought it. So many people believe what the experts are saying, but they are not hearing what is really going on. I dont even listen to the news or stuff anymore. To many liers and negative news. I did know however that those people were full of chit when they told Bob and I that 6.125 is really good. Ya, for the bank....LOL
Id be willing to lock in later next yr, before we get our new info. I hope it dosnt go down after we do, but 4.125, that would be pushing it.
I can stay at the 5.125 payments and be happily paying the 6.125 price..overpayment is a good thing.

Wow that is a good deal. Do you know if your rate goes up if you do decide to lock in? Our home equity is variable, and it's pretty low right now, but if we lock it in it goes up to 7% or something.

Yes, I used to work in mortgage and it's best just to go to the actual bank instead of watching the news. Some banks even have a "mortgage watch" where you can enter in a rate and it will email you if it gets that low etc.

That's great!!! Ours is down to like 6.125 right now which we find amazing since we have TERRIBLE credit at the moment. (we are working on it. . ) We also pay the same as we used to when it was at 8!!! So we are just getting that much further ahead!! Let's do a happy dance!

Woohoo...good for you! I was gonna look into refi, but we are already at 5.175, so I will wait a bit and see what happens.

Ya, I think if we refi, we will have to look at what the lock in rate is, then see if we can buy a couple points down. Hope hope hope.

Ours is 4.75............yep we got a great deal with our credit union.:) We are so grateful that we didn't refinance with Lending Tree about 1 1/2 ago. We were in a tight bind, I was unemployed and we really needed to cash in our equity. We got turned down because they wouldn't count my unemployment benefits as income. Thank goodness, we were upset at the time but realize now that what I believe is that things happen for a reason.

Congrats to you Vick..................
