Ok, so I'm moving to the barn I looked at a couple of weeks ago that I liked so much. The guy only has two open stalls though so I have to wait until he finishes a third one. Well, I was really concerned about my 22 year old and the amount of food she wasn't getting at the other place so I decided to move her right away and then give 30 days notice for the other two horses. Things went smoothly with the current BO. She appreciates the 30 days and was ok with me moving the one horse now.

So, I got Poppy moved to the new barn last night. It was feeding time so she was very enthusiastic about loading in the trailer (hay in the manger) and then when more hay was waiting in her new stall she was happy as can be, lol! I took a peek in all the horses stalls a the new place and he feeds twice the amount of hay the other barn is feeding. Which is really what the horses need, two flakes a day is not enough! The stalls are twice as big as well. I haven't seen a barn with stalls this big in Vegas.

I can't wait to move the other two horses. I feel guilty still having them at the other barn where the standard of care is sub-par but at least the barns are 5 minutes from each other so it will be easy to keep on top of things at both places...it's only for four weeks. It's probably better that I end things on a good note with the BO there anyway. I know I have every right to throw a fit and storm out but the horse comminity is small here and sometimes it's better to just suck it up and bow out gracefully rather than have your name dragged in the mud.

This weekend I'll get pictures and hopefully I'll have the new power cord for my lap top at home by then so I can actually post them!

Glad to hear things seem to be going smoothly. Moving of any kind is never close to fun for me. We'll be looking forward to the pictures.

That's good that everything is working out and the new place is feeding adequately and the stalls are bigger. Sorry that you have to wait to move the others over but I think your doing the right thing. You gave 30 days notice so you covered your basis and are trying to leave on good terms even though you have every right to stomp out of there and make a big scene. I think your doing the right thing and I hope it stays copacetic at the old barn as the 4 weeks winds down. Don't be surprised if things start to get a little dramatic as everyone finds out you are leaving and some drama might start, just know you did the right thing even if there might be a little drama. Not saying that there will be but you just never know and it sounds like others at that barn are not happy with the extra fees and lack of management aswell. I'm glad you found a new barn and it sounds like the guy is active in managing and making sure the horses and owners are taken care of properly for the money they are paying.

I do but Blue is turned out to pasture for the time being. He's still lame and I decided a year at pasture would be good for him physically and mentally. Plus, I've got my hands full with Remington this year...he's a not so little baby now and needs lots of training and attention!

I know I know, I need pics! It's been dark by the time I got to the barn so far but tomorrow I promise!
