Well, my Internet is messed up so I don't have much luck getting on here lately.
I've been pretty busy. Guess I don't have to worry about that any more.
I've lost my job a week ago. Supposedly I'm healing slower than he expected.
I am almost back to normal. Still hurt, but can move my hands quite well and my strength is almost back. When I asked about it, he said I wouldn't be able to hold on to a rearing horse. How stupid is that? Why in a world would I want to hold on to a rearing horse? I wouldn't want to get killed even if my hands would never been broken.
Also he said that I know more about computers than he does and it scares him.
Two weeks before I got fired, he bought a new computer and wanted me to help him with it. So I connected it to the Internet, had to reset and reconfigure his router, networked both computers together, enabled file sharing, mapped both drives so it's easy for him to get from one computer to the other...did that for free through my lunch break. (He didn't even say thank you, all he said was "sweet"). While I did that I've lost his background picture (It wasn't saved on his PC or I would have put it back). Sometimes it happens when you refresh the background or change the resolution. Well he thought that I did it on purpose and now he "cannot trust me". Really it didn't make any sense to me. After I configured it all for him, I never even used his computers besides of clocking in and out (everyone else who worked there would get online through the lunchbreak and that was fine...) and suddenly after 2 weeks, out of nowhere, he cannot trust me?
I think he fired me because of his wife though. I have been nothing but nice to her, but for some reason she was always acting as if I ate her dinner.
So right now I am unemployed.
Other than that I don't have much new. As I said my hands are doing much better. I was even cutting wood this weekend. Still hurt, but I'm glad I can do things now.
My horses are doing OK. I don't get to ride much. Crystal is wonderful. I have only got to ride her few times and bareback, but she didn't forget anything. She sure doesn't act like a green horse that wasn't ridden for so long. We can even sidepass...only to one side, though. If I ask to go to the left she goes backwards instead. :D I just started working on it when I broke my wrists, so we are where we left of.
Sorry for my rant. Hopefully I'll be able to make it here more often now.

Awe, Petra, that really sucks.:( I'm so sorry you lost your job. (((Hugs))) Your boss sounds like a real jerk, and his wife too.
I'm glad your hands are healing though and that you're able to do more things now, and are almost back to normal. And that's great that Crystal is being such a good girl and hasn't forgotten any of her training. She sounds like a sweetheart.:)
I hope you can get your internet fixed soon, we miss you around here!:)

Nice to see you back Petra, glad your hands are better but I'm really sorry about the job, I know it was something you were really looking forward to having for a long time. Alot of men are threatened by women who have better skills than they do, especially when it comes to computers or electronics. My mother in law's husband is like that, she hooks up all their electronic stuff and he's always telling her she doesn't know how to do it when she does it fine, he's the one who can't even turn the thing on. The wife could have something to do with it too, pretty girl working there, insecure woman....you know how it goes. I don't know the guy but he might have cheated on her before. She thinks of you as a threat. I don't know if that's true or not just a guess. Lucky I'm not jealous since my man worked with all women until the last 2 yrs he worked at the school. There were always women calling the house for school stuff. I never worried but then my man is clueless, he doesn't normally notice a pretty girl if she's right in front of him. If she was a car then that would be a whole different story!!!!!
I'm glad the horses are doing fine. Crystal is a wonder horse, once you get back to serious riding you guys are going to be even more magical together. Take care of yourself and hopefully a dream job will come along. You've had some really lousy stuff happen this year but you always look at the positive. I am so happy your hands are healing, that's the most important thing.

Aw geeze, I'm sorry about the job... and the reason for letting you go. That just stinks.
I'm sorry it's been such a rough time for you... I hope you can get some of that charmed luck of yours back. We've missed you around here!

Holy cow! What a jerk. Totally unbelievable! As for holding on to a rearing horse, I thought this was more a small animal clinic? Or at least a general practice? I thought you were hired because of your skills and knowledge of many different animals, especially the exotics? WTH?!!! Some men can be such insecure jerks! Sheesh! So you know computers better than he does- big whoop! Sorry, but that's a real sore spot for me with things like that. Reminds me too much of autro mechanics.....:p. Still fight rounds with men on vehicle problems here and there, lol!
I'm glad things are progressing well with Crystal. Don't worry, she'll figure the opposite side out soon enough. All horses seem to have a stiff and soft side, and the stiff side's just harder to work with, is all. Try more bending and flexing on the bad side- see what happens.
Hope you get your internet woes straightened out! It's always nice seeing your horsey updates!

Gosh I am sorry your boss turned out to be such a jerk, but like rocknK said, you have great skills and I bet you'll have an even better job in no time. Take time now and rest and enjoy the holidays.

I'm glad to see you back Petra. I was just wondering how you were doing. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of the job though and the jerk of a boss. Hoping something else comes along for you soon and your hands keep up the healing process!

Thank you everyone for the kind words!
About my boss, he is not a jerk, he is actually a very nice person. I could tell he had hard time letting me go. Whatever he said to me didn't make much sense and it seemed like he was trying to make excuses to himself, so he can feel better about it. There was a lot of other things he said that was so contardicting. He said he couldn't trust me, but proved completely opposite. I was the one to set up all the passwords I could get in to anything if I wanted to. Before I left, I have offered to show him how to change his passwords, so he doesn't have to worry (just because I was being nice, since he "already had it in his head that he cannot thrust me"). He knew I had laptop in my car - I have always brought it with me, because I had an hour lunchbreak. If I was such nutcase and wanted to mess something up, what in a world would stop me from doing so after he fired me? So he cannot trust me while I work there, but can trust me after he fires me???
I could write for much longer, but it just upsets me.
I could probably find an IT job, but the city is an hour drive from here. I don't want a job so far away any more. I don't get to see my family and don't have any time to spend with my horses.
And I never had time to come here! :)
I'm on unemployement for now and am hoping to find a job in one of the vet clinics in our area. I really loved working with animals, so much more than any job I ever had before.
Oh but I have good news too. I've put an ad up on craigslist that I do woodburning and bunch of people replied! I guess it makes a nice christmas present. So I do have something to do while I sit at home.
Gypsy Rose:
No, it wasn't a small animal clinic. And I can work with my horses just fine. Of course I wouldn't be able to hold on to a rearing horse. My 120lb is no match for the 1000lb+ up in the air, broken wrists or not. I can't see why in a world would he expect me to. If something happens to a horse because it's rearing it's less liability for him than if the horse stomped on my head.
Lol my Crystal is just being stubborn about everything on her bad side. I think she knows exactly what I want from her. It took her only few seconds to figure out what I want when I asked her to move to the right. She goes great off of leg pressure.
She is funny I have been practising with her to go backwards for a long time and she always got praised for it. Now if she doesn't want to do something she goes backwards thinking she'd please me and I'll quit bugging her. :D
I haven't been out there with her much lately, for how long she wasn't worked with i think she is doing great.

Hopefully you will find your dream job. I think there is more behind getting fired than the boss is telling you. Maybe jealous wife even if she seems nice. It's awfully strange, all the things he said and contradicted himself.
MY VET WILL NOT HOLD ONTO A REARING HORSE. I know that because my Dommie hated my vet and would rear. It would take longer to catch him and get him settled than it would what ever the vet needed to do to him. When he reared he'd just let him go and I'd lead him back with some grain. It's all very strange but I really hope you get your dream job eventually and all will go fine. Hugs to the dogs and horses.

Nice to hear from you, Petra. Sorry about the job. It does sound like the real reason didn't have anything to do with what he told you.

Good to see you are still around Petra and your wrist are healing.. Glad to hear Crystal and your other horses are well. Sorry to hear you lost your job.. I have to agree with the others.. there is more to this then he is telling and it is possible the wife had something to say about it. Good luck finding another job..

Thank you everyone! :) I miss visiting here. I can't wait for my Internet to work again. The service we have cuts us off for a month if we over-use it. My son has been downloading iTunes...sometimes it works really slow, other days we have none. It will be a month in few days, so I'll be able to come here much more.
So far I have no luck finding a job and I've just found out it will take a while before I'll get my first unemployement. My horses will need farrier pretty soon and I'm almost out of hay. I hate doing it, looks like I'll have to sell couple of our horses if I don't find a job pretty soon.
I'd sooner die than sell my Crystal and I doubt anyone would ever want to buy Hraley, with his cow-hocked legs and stunned growth. However Bullet and Trigger are beautiful, I may have to sell them two. It's a hard decission to make, but I have to make sure they are all taken care of. I'd rather them go to a new home than feel guilty every time I look at them. :(

Petra, you've done a wonderful job with Bullet and Trigger. If it comes down to rehoming them, they have a lot going for them landing good homes with the great work and time you've put into them.
I think you've got a lot going for you in the horse rehab department, at any rate. Maybe something to look at down the road.
Good luck finding a new job! Keeping my fingers crossed!
