Ok all, if I do breed her it will be in 2011 for a 2012 foal. She'll be 5 then. So here's what I want.
Preferably a TB/Paint or a full blooded TB but I would consider the right QH. I'm looking for more height and a little more jump. Sire has to be registered with JC, APHA or AQHA. Color doesn't matter. I definitely want bone in the legs, no toothpick legged TB's.
Cinn has a straight-ish shoulder I"m looking to improve and not the greatest feet.
Whatcha got?

That would be a pretty cross! I'll have to get to looking up a few TB stallions..... will admit I don't know of any right off the top of my head.....LOL. Are you thinking of a stallion close enough to haul her to, or doing AI?

Does't matter, not too many good TB's down here so most likely shipped semen. She'll have a paint either way, she's homozygous which is a cool bonus.

Oh wow, you will get a painted baby then.....very nice!!

She won't have a creme, which is cool, pink horses don't do real well down here. Other than that, I don't care, but it will have spots!!! Now if I could get her to have a colt instead of a filly, I'd be all set.

TB's are not known for good feet but they have everything else you want.

Yeah I know...oh well, I shoe it. I forgot- She's very calm and cool, so a spirited stud is not a problem, but I don't want a lunatic (and of course someone that has a lunatic is going to say that in the ad :) )

Also, I'm looking for a stud fee that's 1000 or less. Preferably a stud that is a successful or retired jumper or one that races or has raced might be okay too. Realistically, I'll either find the perfect stallion, or I won't breed.

True, but some TB's are wired tighter than others. I'm not looking for a hot one, but one that's a little warm is ok. I don't want a plug. She's so calm, I would end up with a trail horse and that's not what I'm looking for.

I had to work today, LOL, so I am finally back online..... now I can do some searching online to see what is out there for your mare! :) It's fun to look for stallions!

This guy is kind of neat, altho I know some people may not care for his color..... I love it tho. But I also like his build (altho I am no expert on conformation)....

The first stallion is a pretty color, but he's over at the knee, which is not something I can have for a jumper. Here's a link that explains it if you're interested...
http://www.extension.org/pages/Relating_Form_to_Function:_Horse%27s_Front_Legs,_S ide_View He jumps though, or he did...hmmm, I wonder if he still does.
The second one is nice, I like the look of him. Slightly toed out in front, but nice.

You know..... I was looking at the first horse and I wondered about his knees..... LOL.
And yup...I looked at the second horse again....he does toe out, especially can see it in the second to last picture.... I like his butt tho! LOL. He has a cute face too....

Well, arabs have GREAT feet and legs, so I would think that would be a good pick. ;)

Nope, sorry all, NO ARABS! They don't have the height I'm looking for and I don't like them. Traks are usually mostly TB's Ramali, so a Trak wouldn't be bad, but no Arab blood ;).

Thorobreds make an awsome cross on most other breeds! My mare is in foal to a Thorobred for 2010. She's a reg qh, cow bred, on the short side (14.1) but a to die for disposition. I was also looking for a little more heigth and a little more lightness and athletic ability. The best horse I ever rode was an appendix bred aqha (thoro/qh).
The stud I bred her to was at the barn I board at, so I watched him for 2yrs before I finally took the plunge. He has all of the qualities I'm looking for plus a very sensible and nice to work with disposition. He is a wonderful athlete but not hot. I don't see how I can lose. His owner doesn't AI or I would recommend you have a look. Stud fee was $300. To say the least, I'm excited. I hope you find your stud!

TB's came from arabs. *sticks out tongue* :p

This is true. They took the beautiful movement and athleticism added height, but left the funky heads and spazoid personalities.

He is here right now and I will be riding him in the next few weeks and can get some video then.

That would be cool! He's toed out pretty far in back and somewhat in front, but if he moves nicely enough I might not care :) since my mare is not. He's pretty, I'd like to see him in action.
I hope no one's taking offense at my comments, really, I can't find a stud I like which is the reason for the thread. I'm picky since this is going to be my next show horse and if she wants, a show horse for my daughter when the time comes.

Hummm pictures never do a horse justice. I spoke with his owner this morning and we will make a time to get some video in the next few weeks. Hopefully, the ground will soften a bit and the footing will improve so I can trot and canter for the video.
She has a stallion collection kit so she could send sperm for a January breeding if that's what you wanted. Send her email and she can give way more details.

Which one?? They are all magnificent!!:cowboy:
Did you read the stallion contract??? Holy cow! Mare care and breeding restrictions alone would scare the crap out of me!!

Brooks Or Dunn

Holy FREAKIN' smokes! Those are some nice stallions!!
And Remali..I love your taste lol.

The stud fee for Brooks or Dunn is 1000 which is the max of what I was looking to spend minus the pre breeding stuff. So it might get expensive. I'd be doing shipped semen so mare care is not an issue.

Some nice stallions you guys are lookin' at....
I'll let you off the hook about Arabians though.....LOL.... and I'll be the first one to admit that they don't make too many Arabians any more like they used to..... ;)

Well ya know Remali, if I were to devise a theory based on the Arabs I've come in contact with....they've all got a screw loose. ;) but I'm inclined to believe I just get the freaks.
