So, it's beautiful today and we were out in the yard. The yard is new to us and there's some plants hidden behind the shrub trees in the back corner of the yard. Ethan was exploring back there and I went to check on him. When I did it appeared that he was leaning over a viney type plant with clumps of bright red (very tasty looking) berries. I couldn't tell if he'd eaten any yet. I fished around in his mouth and there wasn't any sign of them. Also, he wasn't back there long enough to have eaten more then 1, if he ate any at all.

Does anyone recognize this plant? If so, what is it and is it dangerous.

Looks like a winterberry bush. I don't think there would be anything to worry about if only one or two berries were eaten. Does the plant look something like this? This one has some ice or snow on it.

No clue, but just wanted to say I did try! ;) I'm sure he'll be fine, though. I would think, even if they look tasty, they may not be tasty. I'd think he would've been drooling or something if he had chewed any up.. is he big on putting stuff in his mouth?

They look like winterberries to me - the birds love them, but the berries are really bitter... so I doubt if he did eat one that he would eat a second. :) They're not very toxic, but they're not exactly good to eat either. ;)
