Never attempted to write a novel before, always wanted to but never sat myself down to do it.
This past Oct. I learned of http://www.nanowrimo.org/ and decided to use it as an incentive to try... I am proud to say I actually won with over a 52,000 word count. I start the revisions and the editing this month, don't know if I will submit my book for publishing, but it was sure fun to write. :D

YouTube- The NaNoWriMo Song - Music Video!
Song I've found on youtube relating this, I love this user etc so I watch and subscribe to her, this song might keep you going in times when you find it hard to write :)
I would love to have done it. Maybe next year. And if I have time!
And congrats! 50k of words is amazing (:

I didn't do Nano this year, but I did 4 years ago. My son was only 2 1/2 months old when I did it. I finished it before Thanksgiving!! It's quite a feat isn't it!! Congrats on finishing!!!!!! I never did do NaNoFiMo (National Novel Finishing Month. . .lol. I edited for many many months and got so tired of the story I stopped. lol. What was is your book about?

Thanks for the video Allie that was awesome.
Ew thanks. I feel good finishing it, like it was not as impossible as I originally thought writing would be. I chose to write a sci-fi, with a military hero, a psychotic scientist, a bad arse heroin and can not forget the aliens...lol

Lol, that's great!! Did you compete in any word wars? I remember that was one of my favorite parts! lol. Writing, when it's flowing, is very therapeutic!

Congrats Appy! You're novel sounds fun. I'd like to try that...one of these years when life slows down a little, lol.
I did Nano last year, but unfortunately with the new job - this year just wasn't happening. I did win and used the self-publishing route. I am working on finalizing my last edit (still) and will start promoting it soon. I did sell a several copies of the first addition and I've had quite a few requests for a 2nd book. I am hoping to go a more traditional route for publishing for my next one.
Congrats on winning!

No word wars for me. lol
That is very cool Cat, I am considering going the self publishing route if I decide to publish. Still not fully sure yet. I am just happy to have another creative hobby. Congrats on the book by the way and good luck with the final edit. I am still sitting on my first draft plan on starting the editing process in about a week or so, I need time to let my brain cool off, lol I am fried after November.

WOOHOO APPYLOVER!!! I'm so happy for you:) What a great accomplishment.
4 of my classmates and maybe 2-3 of my good friends did. Most of them hit 50,000. One hit 70,000. :p Good job!

I can't believe I missed this thread! This was my first year doing NaNo officially (I might have done it last year, before I even knew NaNo existed) and I made it. :)

Congrats. I had tons of fun and even have taken writing up as a hobby now. :D Next year here I come. I am hoping to one day follow Cat and get a book self published just for the fun of it, but I don't know yet. We will see what the editing stages bring on. lol

It was a crazy month but it was SOOOO much fun. And the accomplished feeling at the end was awesome! In the words of Nike "Just do it." :D You won't regret it.
