But there really is no choice but to raise the ceiling. The spending was the problem... this is just an after-effect.

They've really lost any sense of self-control in Congress. They're little kids let loose in the candy store.

Now... have to get back to re-inventorying my bug-out-bag and checking my ammo supplies...

That's what Democrats do. It never ceases to amaze me how any sane human being could ever vote for them..because they will ALWAYS raise taxes and grow government.

Just in time too. They just passed a 1.2 trillion spending bill on top of a 1.4 trillion deficit fot the 2009 budget year. The bill includes 5000 pork projects. Not to worry though because Obama promised when he was running for president,to go over everything line by line & throw out pork. :rolleyes:

Steve, Republicans have their own pork projects in the bill. You know, they have to keep their constituents happy, so they will get re-elected. Wait, their constituents generally don't even know about these expenditures.

I'm for a third party called the No Incumbent Party. Except for Tom Coburn, and the new guy from Utah, who sleeps on a cot in his office to save rent money.

No doubt......but if you look at history, you will see Democrats are hands down winners in pork and growing govt. A 3rd party will do nothing but cement a democrat majority.

Term limits and a line item veto are the only way to fix it.

Oh, agreed, the Democrats win that race. But both parties are ridiculous in handling taxpayer money.

In the past, the third party has insured Democrat rule. I'm not so sure if it would today. People are ticked off, big time.

You are absolutely correct Steve. That was the first thing I thought of when someone started talking about a new party..the Tea Party. That might be the for real beginning of the end if that happens. It would only ensure Democratic victory all around.

I think many in Congress are failing to read the current mood of the country. Things are shaping up for an electoral bloodbath in 2010... and I don't know if they see that coming.
