i went to pick my husband up from work and he was not there. normally that is no big deal, i just wait for the crummy to come back from the job site (boss drives the crummy truck to job site and takes everyone in that). well they where a hour late, i had a really bad feeling. when they got there mike(husband) was not in the truck. i asked where he was and i was told that they got pulled over and he was arrested for a warrant from plumas county. i went to the jail to ask what was going on and i got there before they had a chance to book him so they where not able to tell be anything but he is staying till he gets a court date! my husband is in jail right now and i have now clue as to what to do. to make things worse, my phones are shut off because we could not pay the bill so i have no way to call anyone or for him to call me to let me know what is going on. i am so scared right now. i just dint know what to do. and i dont know what is going on. i am so scared that he is going to be shipped to plumas county and i wont know. i swear god hates me!! every time things start to look up for us something happens to bring us back down. and today was going so well. if he has to stay in jail we are in so much trouble. i cant afford rent on my own. i just dont know what to do. i am going to go back to the jail and see what is going on he!!, i might just sleep there tonight, i dont know. i really hate my life right now.

Woah, I agree. Sounds crazy... you have no clue what he might have been picked up for? (you don't have to answer specifics, just thinking aloud)

Once he is booked they normally will allow you to talk to them. If it isn't a really big offense I would think you should be able to get him out on bail. If he is being extridited back to the other county - you may have to wait until he gets there to bail him out.

well i just got home and i could not see him, could not talk to him, and i was told that he got picked up on a felony warrant without bail. and he might be released tomorrow or he might get sent to plumas county and then i dont know. i have to wait till tomorrow to call the jail to see whats going on or wait for a call from him. i was able to give my work number to one of the jailers to give to him so he does have some was to call me. now i just have to play the waiting game which i really, REALLY, suck at doing. now i think i am going to go cry my self to sleep and hope and pray that i see him tomorrow.

Oh no, I am so sorry dustys_girlly. Maybe there is a legal process they have to go thru before they can release any information to you, but I guess I'd try calling an attorney or the D.A. in the morning. And his boss knows nothing of why your husband was arrested? I always thought that they had to tell people why they were being arrested, but maybe his boss wasn't right there when they arrested him and didn't know what was going on.

Do you have any family, or friends, that you could stay with for a while, or at least talk to, so you have some moral support so you aren't all by yourself right now? Or, a friend or family member that maybe could come and stay with you for a while, and maybe loan you a cell phone for the time being? Just trying to think up some ideas for you.

I hope things will turn out OK. It just doesn't seem right that they can't even tell you what he did if he did anything. I don't know anything about the law but it just seems wrong that they won't tell you why he is in jail, what happened to the one phone call thing and your right to an attorney and all that stuff you see on TV? I hope you either have or can find a good attorney to help you. It all sounds very strange like they think we're in another country and not America where we are supposed to have rights.

If the warrant is from another county, the arresting officers or the jail, may not know all the details. I don't know about CA, but in AL you would have to get the information from the county that issued the warrant. If it's no bail, I'm afraid he'll be there until his court date and if it's anything like AL, that could take a while.

You might could try contacting a bondsman in the county that issued the warrant. If you find a nice one, they might call the jail for you and get the information. Why he was arrested (what the the charges are) and possible court date. Of course, he probably has to be booked in to get the information.

Oh, and as for them giving out the information, remember our new privacy laws about giving out info, they wouldn't tell his boss why because of it.

Thank you everyone! well i went back to the jail today and did not get very far. but i get to go see him tomorrow as long as he has not been transfered. he was able to call me at work but it was only a 3 minuet call so that did no good, but he does not really know why he is there other than he has a warrant out on him. at lunch i went and got one of those pay as you go phones so that helps. but i called the jail and asked them what was going on and they where able to tell me it is a warrant for failure to show up in court. we never even knew he had a court date. but funny thing is the warrant was issued on the 29 of this month, so he got picked up the day after it was sent out. lol just our luck, i wonder if that helps any with how fast he got picked up? but i just got off the phone with plumas count sheriff dept. and the lady i talked to could not tell me anything but she took my name, number and mikes name and said she would give it to the sargent when he got in and hopefully he will call and i can talk to him. but he is going to plumas county for sure the thing is when and for how long. luckily his boss said he would have his job when he got out and our land lords are really great and want to do anything they can to help. and i have dozer, dusty and sterling, and the kittens to keep me company till he comes home. i just hate waiting. patience is a virtue that i have very little of.

HUBBY GOT MOVED TO PLUMAS COUNTY!!

i am so going to kick his but when i have to drive up there to pick him up! i just got off the phone with him and he said things are going really bad there, they have a person in on a first offense graffiti charge and is sentenced to 16 months jail time!! and my hubby is stuck there, but he said when he got there he knew the guy in charge and they talked for a little bit. everyone in quincy knows my hubby, he is the hilly billy banjo playing logger, he is well known. he is still trying to find out if his ex is still working in the jail, if so that is going to be interesting. but he has a court date tomorrow afternoon and the jailer said that he is most likely going to be released after that. i guess the probation office has changed a lot and things got losted then found and now the new DA is on a head hunting mission, so hubby gets to deal with everything. and when i asked about the jump suit he is wearing he said he is in the classic black and white outfit. poor guy that is just going to make his butt look so bad.

no not really, but then i did not ask, i know what it is all about i just dont know why they wanted him now. but i have to call the probation office in quincy tomorrow to see whats going on and what we can do to fix it. then see if we can transfer everything to where we live now. but we know its something about past fines or not checking in with his probation officer. this is what happens when you let men handle things.:p lol now i have to find a way to fix it.
