So last night we had our 1st annual Pumpkin Carving Party which consisted of 8 carvers, a couple onlookers, a few pizzas, and alot of beer :) It was so much fun! We shared small talk while we took on the serious task of making a better pumpkin than everyone else. Once we all finished it was a pretty beautiful sight  Some definite creativity was flowing in our 'hood...

It was kind of a contest too, you know the one where EVERYONE wins something? Well the boys were not happy about that (we had some competetive spirit going on) but we all ended up with our only source of Halloween candy! Woohoo!

Don't even think that I'm not eating roasted and salted pumpkin seeds from the insides of our very own creations....right now...cause I totally am. :cowboy:

Introducing:

The "Stoked" Couple...I was really digging the little guy, he looks ready to go somewhere REALLY fun, lol.

Everyone has to have a puking pumpkin on Halloween...

The Obama-lantern...We obviously had a Democrat in the house :innocent: It was the topic of a great political discussion. I have to admit, that's almost a peice of art

Misfits...my favorite of them all, and my so so talented BF was the creater :) What a pumpkin right?!

My family has a pumpkin carving contest every year! lol. we go all out, treat bags, first prizes, 2nd, 3rd, etc. We just had ours last night (Wednesday night). It was small this year, but its still a good time. Oh yeah, and we have a judge lol.

Wow!! Those are impressive!!! Very nice pumpkin carvers there!!! Yours must have taken forever!!! My favorite is the Obama one. In fact Obama's flickr page is posting Obama pumpkins all day today and I didn't see any that good! Very cool!

My son and I carved a very quick pumpkin today. I bought a bunch of them hoping we would all get to carve one and Halloween has snuck up on me!! So we got one done but we didn't take any finished pics. . .But I have some of the fun making it!

Thanks! I hadn't done the pumpkin carving thing for a while....hence this was our 1st annual carving party....it was so fun that we decided to make it a tradition! I'm already bummed I'm too old to trick-or-treat, might as well keep the pumpkin carving alive.

Equinewoman...your son is sooo freakin adorable and his carvation is very classic :) You should just get them all carved really quick, get your hubby and son and you set up in a little pumpkin carving assembly line! They look so fun in the dark

Next year I want to carve some kind of a horsey halloween scene...

FUN! I love the swiss cheese with mice. I never got around to carving my pumpkin but I want roasted pumpkin seeds so bad that I just might have to carve it when I get home from work tonight... kind of late but oh well!

Rocknk...LOL, we kept them under control and out of the car!

Sedona, wasn't the cheese a cute idea, my roomie's sister came up with it. Oh and the pumpkin seeds were soooo good the next day! A great way to get into the Halloween spirit, you must carve and roast!
