I was out at the stable yesterday, and they're putting up the new barn and indoor arena....just in time for winter! Woo hoo! The old barn was destroyed in a tornado earlier this past summer. I didn't get pictures though, because I didn't have my camera with me at the time, I had been out running errands and decided rather than going back home I would just keep on going out to the stable.
I'm still at a loss for a new name for Koko/Baroness tho. Sheesh. I just cannot come up with anything that really does it for me. They named her Baroness though.....so maybe for the time being I will just nickname her "Ness".....lol! I brushed her and worked on teaching her to move away from pressure, but with the guys there putting up the barn so close by it was noisy and there was lots of activity while they were hauling up the trusses, or frame, or whatever it is called, and the barn is between her pasture and the outdoor arena.....so we just stayed near the gate to her pasture and I worked with her a little there. She had a little spook while I was brushing her, I didn't have her tied, I was just holding onto the lead rope, but she stopped right away when she hit the end of the lead rope and after that she was a good girl. It was a very windy day, and with all the trucks and heavy equipment out there making noise, that may have freaked her out. Plus they were lifting up this huge section of the barn roof while I was out there so that easily could have scared her, they had this tall lift-like thing (almost like a crane) and were hauling up the V-shaped section of the end of the roof. I'll get pictures next time! I also met a couple of the other boarders while I was out there, they seemed very nice, so I'm looking forward to seeing them out there again and perhaps making some new friends!
