OMG!!!

Tonight J and A got into it again and J came out and told me he just didn't know what to do. So I asked if he wanted me to go in and he said sure. So I did. She and I talked and I think it went well! She talked to me and listened to what I had to say. Then I told her what I thought had happened between her and her dad and that I was going to go get him and the 3 of us would talk. There were quite a few misunderstandings and we didn't work through them all but that's ok. Then J left and I told A that anytime she wanted to talk to me she could. Anytime for anything and she said ok. Now normally after a fight A wont come out of her room for hours if not stay in for the entire night but tonight she came out after 10 minutes! I really think that there was a break through between A and myself tonight.

That's great!! Hopefully you can be the sounding board she needs!! And hopefully you won't be put in the middle position. It's important for kids/teenagers to have someone they trust in their lives to confide in.

I didn't tell her what she wanted to hear but I did listen and explain what I know her dad is feeling.

Since that night A has really started talking to me. I don't mean like in conversations cause she's not really that kind of person but if she needs something instead of having J ask me she is. That is major! Even with me in the room she would ask J and J would have to tell her to ask me and now she is starting to do that herself. :)
