The last two trips to the riverbeds she has been AWESOME barely flinching at the stallions now, walking RIGHT INTO THE RIVER!! She doesn't even hesitate now, she just walks right in, tries to splash a bit, she just doesn't like the muddy spots haha.

We had our neighbor with us on our paint pony, Ginger was being a brat the whole time, but even with Ginger acting up Grace was awesome, my poor sister is still nursing the bruise on her belly from flipping over the horn last week.. oh did I forget to tell you that story... well, we were coming home from the trails and Hazel stumbled and fell to her knees causing my sister to flip heels over head. She has a massive bruise on her belly from the horn, so trotting for her was out of the question today, and we also cut the ride short so not to cause too much pain.

Anyway, Gracie was prancing and dancing better then the Andalusian's we were passing haha, we even for a gorgeous collected canter up a hill.

As much as she drives me nuts with her pawing.. I can't help but absolutely LOVE her!
She just get's better and better!

We're thinking after Vicor sells to board her at a dressage barn so I can get some training session in with another trainer to sharpen my skills and help me get her going. Our goal is to be ready to present the breed at the 2011 Equine Affaire in Pomona! :-D

That is great A4G. Hopefully it will all work out great for you and you can represent your breed proudly. I love it when other people talk about the love they share for their horses. My bond is with my mare that I gave away to a friend of mine. She will be greatly missed but she left with me a beautiful pinto stud colt named Caddo's Cinnamon. You are doing great trail riding your horse it helps them a lot. I do a lot of my training when I trail ride mine.

Gracie sounds like an amazing horse, sooooo...... where are those pictures?! lol. I bet she'd make a really lovely dressage horse, that's a great idea!

Glad your sister is OK, sounds like a scary tumble, and ouch, a saddle horn in the belly sounds painful!

That sounds great and thanks for the update. What a nice thread to read (well, the love for gracie part). I hope your sister heals up fast, I'm sure that's a painful area to get bruised. It's your core so everything you do works from your gut, I'm sure she feels the soreness with every movement she does. I'm glad she's ok and all she got was a bruise, scary how things can happen so fast.

That's awesome Gracie is doing so well and out shinning those Andalusians! That's not easy, Matty likes to prance and show off so if Gracie makes him look like a lazy horse she's something special! :) What fun you must be having on her. I look forward to hearing about the Equine Affair and I hope this year I can plan a trip to go!! That would be great to meet you and see you ride at the event! :)

No pictures, we didn't even think of the camera this trip around sorry friends. I forgot to mention Gracie's log... There is a big log on the trails that Gracie and I jump every time, yesterday she rocketed over it, thankfully I was holding mane otherwise might have been left in the sand! Maybe I'll try eventing with her!

Iris, she is hilarious with the prancing, every time we pass the Spanish horses doing their gorgeous dancing it's like she has to prove she can do it too. Now I am starting to give cues while she does it so eventually I can get her to prance on cue, when their are no stallions about. She definitely get's lots of looks from the Charros.

I'm taking her out of the pelham bit and back to the KK now, she has started listening to mom's seat and legs more and isn't so heavy on my hands, in the arena anyway haha, on the trail,s, we're sticking with the pelham, I need that extra UMPH when she get's it in her head to show off.
