Did anyone miss us?

Hubby and I just got back from a night of good food, gambling, and plush hotel accommodations at a local casino resort.

My dad gave us the trip, the whole family, brother, dad, hubby, my dad and his lady friend, a night at the hotel with gambling money and brunch in the morning! :)

And I got to play craps and win... been a long time since I've done a lot of either one, and I do love craps. Went home with over $350, including my hundred we started with... :happydance: Hubby came out ahead too, and is now wanting to play craps again. :)


First night in a long time we've gone off and left our critters at home, particularly the dogs. They stayed at a neighbor's... and she also fed the horses... Everyone's fine! :)


So did anyone miss us? Did we miss anything? We didn't announce ahead of time because I didn't want it public that we'd be gone... we might have a whole forum having a kegger at our house or something :D

We're 'xhausted. It's a lot of sensory overload, but a good time was had by all. :)

Woohoo! Was big fun. The craps table was a blast. Got ahead some... got way, way behind... but ended up winning it all back. Love those hardways! :-)

Yup - craps was the way to win for me this time. And we like that! It doesn't always work that way.

I usually do better at blackjack than we did this time. It's hard to win when the dealer only gives you twelves. We can't make money on 12 in blackjack.

One thing I have never made money at is the slot machines... I have seen other people win and have fun at them... every time I sit at them... I put my money in, and push the button and ...."it's gone".

They don't even take coins any more. Just paper tickets.

Yah... even in Vegas they've pretty much gone 100% to the paper-ticket pay tracking style. Some machines do still have the old handles, but it's too slow for the new video games and nobody really uses them anymore.

In a couple of the older casinos on Fremont street you can still find the old machines that still take nickels and quarters. I found this out by accident last year... put a $20 into the bill slot on a machine, hit the "cash out" button, and it dumped out $20 in nickels. Yippee. That's a lot of nickels. :doh:

My daughter went to Atlantic City over the weekend and won $17 at craps--must have been the weekend for it! Glad you had a good time and what a wonderful dad you have!

Clearwater Casino Resort (http://www.clearwatercasino.com/) up on the Peninsula. Very nice place. Nice casino, good food, and nice rooms with balconies and a view of the water. The beds feel like you're sinking in goose down... We decided we need a new bed at home, with the goose-down pillow top on the mattress like they have :)
