Alright here's the deal - I NEED HELP!! I remember reading somewhere on the world wide web about a woman who's father had passed away before her wedding and that she still tells people that her father walked her down the aisle because she wore little picture frames with her father's picture sewn on the back of her red shoes.

My husband's cousin just got engaged and is really missing the fact that her father passed away two years ago and won't be able to walk her down the aisle. I wanted to send her mother (whom I'm closer to) the link about the charms but can't find it anywhere!

HELP!!!!

Edit: I think I found out where I saw it, but it was on PostSecret and they don't archive their stuff.. any ideas how I can track it down?

On her shoes? I'm trying to imagine that.

I feel for the gal. I lost my mom and I wish my hubby had been able to know her and I wish my mom had been able to see me get married.

I wonder if a charm bracelet with small photo charms (photo charms - Google Product Search (http://www.google.com/products?q=photo+charms&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=TwxCS6KRLofIMeqMsO8F&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CEAQrQQwAg)) and "dad" on it would be a good idea that's not even as hidden as on her shoes. Out in the open and very nice.

it was on postsecrets :/. AOL may have done something on it too. I'm sure you can email them and ask for the photo and they will send it to you.

Thanks for the link WB, I will check it out.

I FOUND IT!! Kind of, but worked enough that I could get a picture saved on my computer and emailed it to her.

Here is what it said:
"My father, who I was very close to, passed away when I was 21 very suddenly and unexpectedly. 2 years later I met the man of my dreams and could not imagine getting married without my dad there.

To this day, whenever anyone asks me who walked me down the aisle the true and honest answer is: "My dad did".

The shoes are cute, but no one will see them that way. If it were me, I'd want a charm bracelet on my wrist for such a sentiment. I think they'll like the suggestion either way :)

Thanks for the feedback WB. Maybe she already has something in mind, but it touched my heart when I saw that post. So I did want to pass it along. We'll see what she says in a few days as it takes the mother a few days to check her email. I don't want to upset them, so I hope they don't get that way with it.

welcome. :) I think it's a beautiful idea. I can't imagine it would upset them.

Well she emailed me back and said that it is a very cute idea that she had not heard of before - her daughter (the engaged one) is coming over on Sunday to look at it. They had talked about doing something like that in the bouquet as well.

She also said thank you for talking to her about her loss, and although the pain was unbearable at first losing her husband, the 2 years since his passing have eased the heartache, though it's still there. But she did say he would be greatly missing on A's wedding day.
