I'm not going to name names.. But I've been on this place almost a year and its been one of the most SUPPORTIVE, FRIENDLY and SECURE places.
I recently joined a different forum for a creep-about. I do not like it.. at all :/ Lets just say I'm too scared to post on it haha.
You guys have always been amazing and wonderful and kind, thankyou so much for a great year and all the advice and feedback, I'm sorry if I've annoyed anyone with pointless rants/threads.. but thankyou. Really.

A 'creep-out' is what, exactly... is it like a walk-about, just lower slower? :p
And allie..... YOU ARE WELCOME :)

I only go here and Facebook as places I check alot when on line. You want to see mean check out the FarmVille Forum on Facebook, those people are NUTS. If some new person comes on and asks a ? they will blast them telling them to check the search box, problem is the search box doesn't work right. They are downright nasty to people though.
So anyway I pretty much stick to here and Facebook to check in with my friends and relatives and I will go to the FarmVille Forum to see if anyone has info on why things aren't working but other than that those people scare me so I don't ask anything just check to see if someone else has asked! Nobody here scares me but then nobody here is nuts!!!!

i too have been on several other forums, horse, mule whatever. this one has less arguing, because there is more understanding, this one feels more like "it's ok, we'll all get through this" than any other forum i have been on.
Here & facebook for me too.

I will say the one thing I have because of this place and that is pictures of my horse, and dog come to think of it...I am not a picture guy and there are past horses (and dogs) that I have no pictures of, but with Emmy and Leggs gone I at least have pics, and thats nice....Kevin

I'm with everyone else, this place is home! I've known most of you for almost three years (from h.com) and after we moved from there, no other forum ever could be like this one. When I'm home sick, I'm on here and Facebook alll day lol. I never get sick of it.

Well, I loved horse.com before the craziness happened and that is actually where I met my BEST FRIEND and where my son got his ultrasound pictures posted boy parts included. Of course, you all ooohed and awwwed as if it was perfectly normal. :D I migrated with all my friends over here and this forum has been better then it ever was on horse.com. I love the layout. I love the extra features. I love seeing pictures of everyone's horses!! ;) ;) I love meeting new friends and socializing with old ones. Most of all THANK YOU Wbay and Wboy for all your hard work. We love you guys and appreciate all your hard work. We even appreciate when you tell us to SETTLE DOWN!! Don't we?? :p

I love love this place, I spend so much time here. I totally agree it's not like other forums, it's one big family. I hope to meet some of the forumers someday. Thanks you so much WB and Wboy! :D
Hopefully I'm get to meet prissy this summer at the Illinois 4-h State Fair.

I have to say that I'm really thankful for this forum too. I won't say how, but my life really wouldn't be the same if I had never joined (though a couple of people may already have figured it out). That aside, I don't invite anybody that I know in person to join because this is my 'safe place' and I don't want anyone taking it away from me.
I'm kinda finding it hard to believe that I've been a member for over a year now! :) Thank you so much, WB's for everything you've done for us.

I 'get' this sentiment. It's kindof how I feel about facebook. There's too many mingled groups there and I don't like that aspect. I don't post very much on Facebook. Because it's forum and personal friends, coworkers, old schoolmates, and my husband's family, all in the same place. It's not that I'm not true to who I am online, I think I am, but there's a lot of things I'd vent or say to friends, and a lot of jokes I might tell, that I wouldn't tell to my hubby's mother ;). With employers increasingly able to find things you've said on facebook, it'd be a good idea for a lot of people to say a lot less than they do.

I completely agree. I don't have a facebook account, or myspace, or twitter, or LinkedIn... any of those things for basically that reason.
I kindof enjoy being hard to find. If there are people out there that I want to keep in touch with, then I'm already keeping in touch with them. The folks I'm not keeping in touch with... well... chances are pretty good that I'd just as soon prefer that they stay that way.
I don't think I'm full-on paranoid... but I don't see the upside to being easy for old acquaintences to locate me. If I still wanted to talk to them or know what's going on in their lives... I already would be.
As an IT Director, I make it a special point of pride that I am virtually impossible to actually talk to if you are a vendor or salesman of any sort. I get voicemails from vendors telling me how legendary my lack of access is, and that they're glad that they even got my voicemail box. :-) It's taken years to cultivate that. My take is that if I wanted to talk to you, I would have called you. If I didn't, then I don't.
Add to that your observation that there's stuff you'd share with one subset of friends/relatives that you might not want to share with other subsets.... that's just normal. Not everybody has the same sense of humor. Things that some of our friends find hysterical might be offensive to others. For example, I enjoy South Park but I know that Dad and D definitely would not. A facebook page where I share my favorite SP episodes would lead to conversations with my Dad that I just don't need to have and he doesn't need to deal with.

XD Thanks for being such awesome people, everyone. :)

LOL - I know... I'd like to let people there know about this forum, but without stepping on any toes. I appreciate your effort. :)
I have no such rules here, I think it's a little silly, really. Online communities are not boyfriends... we can have more than one! Most do!

This forum always sucks me back in. :D It's fantastic because there aren't thousands of members who sign up, post once and leave forever. Most people who come in are here to stay.
Whatever happened to h.com? Is it still even alive? :p

I wouldn't have a clue!:)The only times I've been back there is if someone here has posted a link to there, which is usually when something bad happens, and we haven't had that happen in quite some time.

I just went and took a look. It's certainly more dead than here but not by much. I don't recognize anyone really. Is there a chance they got busy again? I know it was extremely dead for a while there.

That's the thing... the admins and moderators still rarely make an appearance or answer questions. They have waaaaay too many subforums for a forum that size... i.e... The size they now are. I'm not crazy about the new format there, and the picture scroll that starts with the same pictures every time is just a sad attempt to copy what we and HGS do. We do ours different than HGS and I think it works for us. I don't think they've given it any thought.
They still have a good domain name, and that gets them a few new members, but with so little activity and marketing, they just kinda dwindle. I'd love to go invite them over again but you know how welcome that would be :D

I've only been a member here since August and I come here everyday. I usually just lurk because I hardly ever feel like I have something beneficial to add (I'm kind of shy, lol). But I can honestly say that you guys are the most supportive and friendly forum I've ever been to. You guys constantly make me laugh! Even if I don't contribute much, in a small way, I feel like a part of the family.
You all are a great bunch!!!

Don't I know it!:D That alone is one of the reasons I don't even bother to check in there anymore. Even HGS was more tolerant when horse.com crashed, and a lot of us migrated over there until you and WB started this place.
