Hehehe, Who is this? LOL

Zipper shirt zipped up under my scarf. Scarf wrapped around my head and over my face. Full winter hat over the ears and clipped under my chin. Winter coat. Fleece lined jeans. Winter socks n boots. Work gloves that when this cold still need inserts.
When I was out with the horses, I had to clean Mysts side, she poos in her shavings, and my hands were cold. I took my gloves off and put them(one at a time)between Citys back legs, from the rear...LOL...I wonder what the neighbors thought, but I didnt care, my hands were Warm and Toasty. City just sat there eating like it was an every day occurrence.

I covered my nose back up before I went out.
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a155/vicklynn/101_0303.jpg

When I came back from feeding, I took the dogs out and Tex actually set his ears back and lifted his foot as in being cold and hurting. I ran them back in the house asap. He is ok...poor baby.

What is your winter get up folks??
Lets see. I know there are some good ones out there.

It seems so foreign to me that all of you are having all this snow and cold weather... we've been so mild and quiet this winter! Not that I'm complaining mind you! We had our fill of snow last winter!

ROFL. I wish I had pictures of mine, but I'll list my winter get-up necessities...

First of all CARHARTS are a necessity that I didn't know I needed until I tried them. My brother gave me a brand new set of carthart overalls for Christmas one year and his old jacket (we're roughly the same size). Those 2 things have been my best friend's for years. So, of course those two things! Then I usually wear a t-shirt, one long-sleeve T and a hooded sweatshirt. Regular jeans are all I need under carharts. Double socks. Fleece lined wool hat, pull the hoodie up and over that. Tuck the hoodie sides in and then zip up my carhart jacket. (by now only my eyes and nose are visible) Fleece thin gloves first and then my big waterproof subzero mittens on top. Oh and now a days I wear my uggs for everything. Church with dress clothes or out to the barn, they always look good. I LOVE those things. Well, worth the money. I've have them for 7-8 years and they are just now starting to show wear. Still JUST as warm too.

So basically I look like a carhart mummy when I'm out to the barn or sledding. :p

Man, to be dressed like that would be nice!!

I can't wear gloves and still function, and I hate having anything on my head. So I do a lot of sticking my hands in my pocketses to get them warm again.

My getup consists of a long sleeve shirt, with a t-shirt on top of that and then the rest is depending on the cold outside as to how many jackets. If it's below 20 I wear 3 jackets(2 thin ones and then my army jacket), my hood tied with a toboggan on top of that, and a scarf. If it's above 20 I wear my 2 thin jackets, with my hood tied. I have about 6 different pairs of gloves too, that are used for different purposes.
If it's really windy I wear all of that, because it obviously bites ya worse and feels colder.
I wouldn't dare post a pic of me in that getup though, y'all will just have to imagine. lol :p I look awful in it! Lol :p

O the lab is apart of every attire I wear, when sitting position! You can buy them at your local pet store or dog breeder but I can assure you they are NOT nearly as wussy as mine! LOL

I got pictures of mine! I just shoveled the walk and cleared out around the bunny cage out back. I tried to bring Lucky in to warm up, but he didn't want anything to do with me. I think it was because I was all dressed out and didn't look or smell like myself. :p Silly bunny!

Here I am ready to conquer winterdom... :)

Lol, great thread!:p

I don't have any pictures of my winter attire. Unless it's amazingly cold I'll usually just wear a t-shirt, hoodie, winter coat, stocking cap, gloves, wool socks over regular socks and my snow boots with regular jeans. The only thing that freezes are my legs but I hate long johns and only wear them when I have to.
When it's REALLY cold, and it has been lately, I usually wear lined ski type pants. I'm not sure what they're made of but they make noise when you walk!:p But my mom stole mine so i've just been wearing regular jeans mostly. I'm also a huge fan of BDU pants (you know, military fatigues). They're baggy so they keep you warmer and I can fit long johns under the ones I have (I have Smalls but they're still big on me) and the big pockets on the legs are great. They're also really durable and hold up way better than jeans do.

I don't have pictures, I start out with Under Armour, the Artic stuff or what ever they are called. Then I put on Fleece Riding Pants then Flannel lined jeans. On top is the Under Armour, t-shirt, sweatshirt, another sweatshirt with hood, a Carhart Vest and a Carhart Artic Coat. On my feet at least 2 pair of heavy socks and boot warmers in snowmobile boots. I just wear a hood on my head because I hate hats. I can't find anything to keep my hands warm, even those heated hand warmers don't help. My hands go numb when it's cold so my husband has been doing winter horse care because it doesn't bother him as much and I can't do anything with numb hands. I have so many layers on I look like a mummy and I can't move real great, I can't even get on the horses at the stable, I can't bend!!!! I'm claustraphobic so I could never cover my face like that. My husband has a thing that goes over his head and you can put it over your mouth or just leave it around your neck. I can't use it, I feel like I can't breathe. I will be happy when it warms up some and I just hope we don't have alot of rain this year so I can actually do something with my boys.

There was a Christmas Story Marathon one day before Christmas, maybe it was Christmas Eve. I taped it and when my parents were here Christmas night we all watched. The way they dressed the little brother up reminds me of me when I go out in the cold, the poor kid couldn't move and when he fell down he couldn't get up!!!! That's me!!!! The house that was filmed in is open to the public now, my friend lives near it and they had a tour before Christmas. The big lamp is in the window all in one piece, she sent pictures. I love that house. She said it's not in the best neighborhood though.

Love the doggy in the picture, very cute. Puppy loves snow too, it's one of the few things she's not afraid of!!!!

Well, Dolly got new winter wear.
http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=801&pictureid=16451
Even though she`s from Wisc. It`s getting down to 17 here in TX.It`s been 4 yrs since she`s had to deal with weather like that. Wish I had the funds to get Kiowa a new blankie. She`s having a hard time with these cheap, unfitted blankets I`ve gotten my hands on. I feel really bad for her. The blankets ( yes there`s 2 of them. )Just don`t fit her right. They get really tight arond her shoulders and doesn`t like it when i try to adjust them.

My winter wear and snowboarding wear is the same as my summer wear - skinny jeans, vest top, shirt (with the occasional exception of waterproof trousers if I'm in powder). I was out in -6*c (20*F) in that yesterday :D. You lot are a bunch of wusses :). I also wore those clothes when I was snowboarding in France last year in temps that were -15*c (5*f) when you got to the top of the mountain.

:hysterical:Let's see you try that when the temps are 20 below F with a 40 below windchill! You'll be in hospital being treated for frostbite!:)

Have to admit that I don't handle the cold as well as I used to when I was younger, though. Enjoy it while you can!

I absolutely adore the cold to the point where I don't mind surfing without a wetsuit in the middle of winter :). I can't stand warm weather though - I just sit around under the air con!

I don't have any pics either.. On top I wear thermal long sleeve under a sweatshirt. bottoms is just sweatpants(easy to move and bend in). Outer wear is a ski jacket and bib overall ski pants. I find that the sweatpants are warmer than jeans. Let me tell you ski clothes is the way to go. Think about it,, if people are out side skiing for much longer than we are when we feed.. I am always warm no matter how cold it is.. Depending on the weather I wear ski gloves, scarf, ear muffs and knit hat plus wigwam socks(the warmest I ever owned)and muck boots on my feet.

Anything above 70 is disgustingly hot :P. 85 just means I won't move at all :).

I went to Malta (a little island just under Italy in the Med) in the summer to visit family and the lowest temp of the week was 104. I spent most of my time either in the sea or sat in front of a fan. I just don't function in warm weather.

Well, my skin would be chapped and bleeding. As long as I'm sledding, snowshoeing or whatnot, then I don't need a lot of clothing, but I stay covered for my skin. It's so dry here in the winter. I guess it's probably not that bad there as it's pretty wet, right?

It's pretty humid here, but when it snows it does get really dry - my hands and my face normally end up pretty bad but I use horrific amounts of moisturiser to stop the rest of my body ending up like that :). We normally get 'wet' snow that's not much good for anything, but we've had fairly dry powdery snow so far. I cover up if I'm going to be hitting rails or jumps though because hitting snow at speed is like hitting concrete and you can really shred some skin.

In those pictures the snow is 4 days old and has been squished down because it hasn't snowed since - on the first day it came almost to the top of my boots :). You can also see my dodgy lower-arm tan from horse riding and surfing in the summer :P.

I don't have pics, but I have to layer up because I will freeze! I'll wear long johns or some sort of under layer like that, maybe sweat pants or jeans, a long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, a heavy pair or two of socks (just depends on what ones I have on) and then of course my Carhartts! I also have nice insulated riding gloves.

Didn't get above 34 today- which is exceptionally freakish for central Florida.

I woke up to a weird ping-ing noise on my roof. It was SLEET!! Snow forecasted for tonight- but back up into the 70's by the end of the week, thank goodness. We just can't handle this stuff.

But, I had to get out and play with my boy a little bit. I put his new heavier blanket on in case it does snow, he has no winter fur. Then I jumped on him barebacked and just walked around the racetrack and dressage arenas a bit.

Here we are, all bundled up! Bareback is the best way to ride when it's cold out.
