I hate making threads for just one picture or silly question. So Iv had the idea of just making a random horse thread :p :cowboy:

Shocks is doing great, I have put her on beet pulp and she is starting to look really good.

Farah was also started on BP and starting having diarrhea so I pulled her off.

Iv been talking to caddoCinnamon via PM's and she has motivated me to build a round pen. :p
I cannot afford to buy one so building one would be the only option. Of course its going to be made tall and horse safe.

Lovely pics! I love the coons. I miss having coons in my yard- it's like they all disappeared.

hmm
Is beet pulp, something horses/ponies could founder on?

IMO, horses and ponies could founer on anything if the change was made too quickly. Under normal circumstances, it's probably safer to feed than alfalfa, at any rate. May even be safer than some grass hays, or all. Even the beet pulp with molassess added is safer than most hays. Soaking the beet pulp would eliminate that problem.. I'm lousy at explaining things, lol!

In a nutshell, since beet pulp is often fed to IR horses, who can't have much in the way or starches and sugars, I would have to assume it would be at a low risk for laminitis or founder.

Thats gypsy. I had looked online and found nothing on it, other than how much to feed.
Iv been soaking it because of all the horror stories I have read, on it causing horses to choke.
