Hunt! I rode with him last year when he did a clinic where I board my horses. Ray Hunt is the original real-deal! The clinic turned into a bit of a goat rope, not the instruction part, but behind the scenes. All I gotta say is that is he is a gentleman as well. I wouldn't have been as cordial. Next weekend I'm gonna trailer 90 mins to another facility to ride both Sat & Sun. Hopefully I'll get a chance to apologize for the shamefull behavior of those involved.

I went to a Ray Hunt clinic a few years ago, but he wasn't in real good health at the time. I'm glad he's still hanging in there and able to give clinics.

He wasn't in real good health last year either...I'm going because fellas like him are very few & far inbetween. Had a chance to meet Bill Dorrance years ago & I passed because I was too busy. Wish I woulda got unbusy.

Try it sometime & see for yourself!!!:p All you need is a goat & a rope!;) Word to the wise NEVER ever refer to a Cowboy as a goat-roper!:cowboy:

Well, I'm outa here. Gotta go get my good gelding & boogie. Just looked out the window & what do I see, fog. Could add more time to my trailer ride this morning. I'll see about getting some pictures but I doubt I'll be around till Monday. You folks have a fine weekend.:cowboy:

So is this your official LOA, or are you putting one in later?
I hope you have fun, and get lots of pics for us.
My brother used to call me a goat roper. He's a teaser that way, ONLY reason he got away with it.

I was just at one of his clinics last month. It was a colt starting clinic and it was great to watch. There is so much knowledge and experience there, not to many like him around anymore. I've been to a few of his clinics now and I have seen him give some people a hard time, boy am I glad I've never been the target! He certainly does not sugar coat anything. My friend and I are going to try and host one of his clinics next year if we can get the dates coordinated.

Well, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself at the clinic. Come back and tell us all about it!

Wow! I'm jealous! He had a clinic somewhere in the Dalles last year. I couldn't afford it. He used to come up to Kamiah/Kooskia every summer back in the early 80's. He amazed all the mountain ranchers with his colt starting techniques and made quite a stir, for the better I might add. :D

He's still kickin'. Last year he did the clinic standing up. But this year he was seated. He's on oxygen the whole time. Doesn't change his message. It was good to hear his words from the horses mouth, so to speak, rather than a book. Seems to stick in my head better.

Just to be able to ride as he watches and advises and helps. There's very few I would care to pay to ride with anymore, but he's one of them. You lucky dog!
