I want to get a tattoo this summer and need it drawn up and good Lord knows I can't draw for my life! I was wanting to get stars down my side but on the back not the front like most people do. Something like this...http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9Zf_P9g6cuo/SXAritSyjtI/AAAAAAAACoo/SB8Sk-aohYw/s400/star+tattoo.jpg

I don't know what kind of stars though...I thought some colored and some not...My boyfriend said the nautical stars, but I'm not sure I want those. If someone who can draw would want to draw me up something I'd really appreciate it!

I also had another idea...to do it down my back and make it curve here and there...I saw one of those online too. I worry because I want kids later, so I don't really want it up front if I don't have too.

I am not an artist so I can't really help there. I do love the idea and placement though, and someday I might get something similar. Just some thoughts of mine...the guy who tattooed me said that generally having some black + grey and some colour mixed together can make a tattoo look unfinished. He generally doesn't do it but made an exception for me and ended up liking it, but it's just something to keep in mind.

Also, in that pic I don't really like the stars. They look like bold, plain stamp ons to me for the most part. Maybe you could do something to make it more original, something less generic than stars (I definitely don't think it's bad to get stars tattooed - I've got three :P), but if they are done like that girl's I don't think they are very unique. You could consider adding lyrics or something smaller than that to intertwine with it. Or you could just work on the stars' design/shape like making it more feminine, something that would actually take a talented artist to create. Definitely talk to your artist about drawing something up, that's what they do and I'm so glad I didn't try and do my whole tattoo by myself because he made it perfect and original.

Anyway I ramble but I love talking about this :) Good luck with your tattoo, I'm sure it will be lovely.

Personally I don't like big gaudy tatoos. Of course, I'm not a fan of tattoos at all, but that aside...my brother and his wife have a LOT of them. My brother is an artist and I think he designs most of them. I really prefer very simplistic small ones. I really like these ones here that I found after googling star tattoos. I guess they're some star's tattoos but I do like them. Small and simple.

Imagine them on your back like you said...

My riding instructor has a very similar tatt to the pic in SWMS' post, and I like it (tho I'd never get a tatt myself, personally) because the stars are cute and small. If I was more geared towards tatt drawing I'd have a go, but it isn't really something I'm good at :/ I have a couple of friends who design tatts and one does her own, so if you want I could ask them for you?
