View Full Version : Wow! My Comment Made Horse Illustrated!!!!

Those of you who subscribe to Horse Illustrated would be familiar with HI Spy. I submitted a comment online in anwser to the question of what a horse person dreads most about the winter season.

My comment made it into the magazine! Wow! If PoniesRock hadn't caught it, it may have been months before I would have known! Yeah, I'm that far behind in my reading. I spend entirely too much time on here, lol!:p

Yes, I did. I subscribe to it, but I'm almost always on the computer- I'm still only up to July between HI, Horse Journal, and Dressage Today, lol! I owe PoniesRock a big thank you!:D

Actually, yes, but I suppose that compared to summer, there are still changes that occur in horsekeeping in winter there, as well.:)

Well, it's a good thing you did!:D Normally, I flip through mine quickly, but I got mine yesterday, and was busy, so stuck it in it's place with the others to read, and didn't give it a second thought lol!

Very cool!! Just make sure you hang onto that copy you've got!! I still have my old copy of Arabian Horse World when I wrote in to that magazine, it's fun to get your comments in there isn't it?!!

That's the first time it's ever happened. If you look at how many others commented...wow!

Way cool! I made it into HI once too a few years ago in the Letters to the Editor. They had written a story about collegiate equestrian and how to get scholarships and such and I responded to it since I was a senior in high school trying to make a team. I didn't catch it either until someone pointed it out, lol.

Really? I remember them doing an issue on horses and college. I think I have that issue still wonder if you in it! :pp

I think my letter was in the issue after it since it was a response. But yeah, the title of the article was something about college, horses, and money...

That is cool. We get so excited to see stuff like that. I wrote a short article for the little local paper a couple of years ago (horsey of course) and they ran it!! You would of thought I'd won the lottery.

Congrats Gypsy. I wish that sometimes mine would get published. I only read Equus though. I used to get HI but found that they catered more toward english nothing against english riders but I didn't find much info in there to help me out with my own horses but Equus is a very practical magazine that i love. It is getting very hard to find though around my parts.

HI is doing more iwth Western now than before. Dale Rudin has a good training article in there almost every month.Through Horse Channel, you can get HI free, as well! I will send you a PM in a bit and show you how if you're not familiar with Club Horse. Otherwise, the ironic part is that I wouldn't even have still been a subscriber by last summer. I simply can't afford more than two magazines, and I already get Dressage Today and Horse Journal. Had to drop my Equus more than a year ago.
