Remy is doing great! We've had him for a few months now I think and he's just awesome. House training is great. Still have to watch him since I am learning smaller breed dogs DO NOT whine, etc. to go out - he just goes to the door and either you notice and he goes outside or you have an accident to clean up. It's only happened a few times though, so I'm happy!

He is still a nervous biter, but we are trying to socialize him as much as possible and finding things working out better. Also watched a dog training show about biting and got some good training tips that we will be working on soon! He's really showing a lot of improvement though! I checked and there are no puppy obedience classes in our area, so i'll have to do it on my own.

Took him to the vet for his 2nd set of shots and he weighs 5 lb. 2 oz. so he's getting bigger!

And I think he's cuter too. :)

His new favorite spot:

I love the long black wispy hairs on his ears:

What a little cutie. We have a little dog now [Westie] after loosing our precious Noah who was a medium dog, he was about 56 lbs, Puppy is 17 lbs at a year old. I have found she has to go out so much more often than Noah and she will circle in front of the door, she's pretty good about housebreaking [It took forever to get her to this point, he learned way faster than she learned but now that she has learned she's pretty good] but she has to go out so much, he went out maybe 3 times a day she goes out way more. I wish I litter box trained her, this cold is killing me, she won't go out alone so I have to go with her!

She has alot of anxiety issues so we have a dog behaviorist coming, it's costing a small fortune but it's that or pills and I'm not wanting to give her pills because they have so many side effects plus the vet said you need to change the behavior even with the pills, the pills just make it easier. We don't get that dog whisperer show so we pay the girl to come and she's very good but I hope that Puppy will make progress fast!

Good luck with Remy, he really is adorable.

Thanks guys!

Amy, the foster mom said she HIGHLY doubts there is any way he would ever get over 10 lbs. so just perfect for us! He's about 5 months now. I don't know how smaller dogs grow compared to larger breeds so I don't know how much bigger he'll get!

I have a few sweaters for him with this weather, but if I brought home a dog purse my hubby would go nuts.

He is so adorably smoochie and sweet! I love this book on dog training (link below)....and I VERY highly recommend it (Cesar Milan is OK, I just think he works better with the more aggressive dogs).... "Good Owners, Great Dogs" by Brian Kilcommons and Sarah Wilson. It's really a great book!!

Tony does the same thing with the potty training! You either notice he went to the door or WAM accident in the house!

Oh he is sooo cute. Is the biting territorial at all? I ask because I saw he was on your couch. Our dogs always started growling and snapping when allowed up on "people places". When we stopped allowing them up at our level the behavior would totally stop. Now it's a strict rule in our house. So far no problems at all with our newest dog using this rule.

No, not territorial related to furniture at all. It's just more of a protective ("hey someone i don't know is in the house and wants to pet me").

right now we just tell people that he needs his own space until he warms up and if they don't pressure him or crowd him and leave him be - after about 20 min he will come up to them and everything is good.

going to do the training tips i learned though the next time we have a "stranger" come over.
