Blah..... since the colonoscopy last week I just haven't gotten back to normal, or, well, normal for me. The other times that I had colonoscopies in the past I bounced right back and felt pretty good afterwards, but not last week. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my passing out and collapsing in a heap the night of the prep (I was out cold, not sure for how long but it was a little while) and when I came to I wasn't able to get up off the floor and get moving for awhile. But I just haven't gotten back to being able to function..... I'm weak and beyond fatigued, and still just don't feel quite right. I put in a call to my doctor today, so I'll see what he has to say. I think they really should have done some blood work and some tests to make sure everything wasn't out of whack after that crazy ordeal last week. :( OK..... I just needed to vent..... I'm tired of being sick and tired...

I'm sorry you're feeling poorly. Not bleeding from...anywhere are you?

Nope, no bleeding..... so that is good. But I am just utterly exhausted and feel rundown. I was really surprised I still felt so crappy the day after, and the next day too..... I've never felt so crappy after a procedure..... blech. I'm eating OK, drinking lots of water, and gatorade..... hmmm....

Hope you'll be feeling better, this yr is starting out as bad as last. What you're going through doesn't seem normal, wish the Dr would do blood tests etc. maybe find SOMETHING. My husband had the test and had no side effects at all after. I really wish they could help you.

Aw Renee I hope you feel better soon! I'm feeling crummy today too, but it's not too bad. I'd like to go lay down and maybe nap for awhile, but my brothers just got home and I will have 0 quiet now lol. Hopefully you feel better soon! They're no fun. It took 2 nurses half an hour just to find a spot to put the IV in, and then they had to poke around for awhile. So I've got three puncture spots and the one they finally got in is right in my wrist, so it's pretty sore.

Thanks! I drank some Pepsi and rested for a bit. I feel a bit perkier, but I'll just take it easy tonite. My supervisor told me that was fine (I called to say I couldn't make it in tonite) and I could put my hours in tomorrow or Sunday, so that's good news. My doctor's nurse called me back to say that if I felt worse to go to the ER (I live only about a mile from the hospital) and have them check me out and do some blood work.

Ack, I know what you mean Morgan, the RN had trouble getting a vein when I had my colonoscopy too, but she eventually found one that worked. Too bad they don't numb up the puncture site more often, some places do that and other places don't. Usually it doesn't hurt, but if they have troubles it's nice when it's numbed up.....lol.

Do you think maybe you should go to the ER? It just doesn't seem right that you are not feeling any better. Maybe bloodwork would be good and they'd do it faster in the ER.

I had oral surgery in Oct. and thankfully they numbed the site where they put the IV in, they tried it in my hand and the vein collapsed or something but they got it in my arm. I was shocked how fast it knocked me out, one minute they were talking to me the next they were calling my name, I asked when he was starting and they told me I was finished! That stuff they knocked me out with really knocked me for a loop though, my husband's cousin who is a nurse said it can take awhile to get out of your system. All's I wanted to do was sleep for a few days, I had zero energy. Not that I ever have much but I had less then.

Feel better, that passing out is scary, the ER might be a good idea to just make sure everything is at the right levels.

I am thinking I will go in tomorrow, I hate driving anywhere tonite, in the dark, even tho it is only a mile or two away..... I feel a tiny bit better and I'm not feeling faint or dizzy..... so I may go in tomorrow. But it seems stupid to me that the clinic up here couldn't just work me in, but they told me they only had a pediatrician there tonite, if a pediatrician can't do some blood tests then something is wrong with that doctor....lol. But, true, the ER would get results back much sooner..... it's just that I hate this ER dept. at this particular hospital......

That is not good Remali. I hope you get in soon and get some answers.
You should not still be having issues with the colonoscopy.
You shouldnt of had the issue of passing out either.
They should of checked you out thoroughly after that.
Id make a big stink over that issue, if it were me that is.

We all hate the ERs but you've been sick for so long, I had to go and they did blood work and got the results ASAP rather than having to wait a week like normal when a regular Dr sends you. Do you have someone that could drive you or go with you? I wish so much you'd feel better.

Remali

Nope, no one around here to drive me over to the ER..... but I'll be OK.... My doc told me to call 911 if I have to, and I will do that if I need to. I'm just taking it easy tonite, I feel somewhat better right now. I had a new GI doctor who did the colonoscopy last week, I was not impressed with her at all and did not care for her, so I think I may get another GI doctor. I do like, and trust, my regular doctor tho, so I'll stay in touch with him, and ask him to recommend another GI doctor (the GI doc last week was recommended by a friend of mine). But, I was not happy that the GI doctor didn't at least do a few simple blood tests last week the morning that I blacked out and collapsed. Just tells me she is a idiot.....lol. I do plan to talk to my regular doctor about the GI doctor who did the colonoscopy, and I am going to ask my family doc to get me another GI doctor in case I need to follow up again with the GI dept.

They're using real sugar - they call it 'Pepsi Throwback'... I think. Originally it was for a holiday (Jewish?) in which the strict followers can't have something that's in Pepsi (corn?), so they went back to the original, pure-sugar recipe, and apparently it's really good. They've done it with Mountain Dew and a few other Pepsi-products too.

I hope you're feeling better tomorrow Remali.

Thanks! Holy moly I HAVE to get myself some of the new sugar cane Pepsi!

I'm still a bit wiped out, but I don't feel quite so out of it, so I am doing better..... I had been sick the week previous to the colonoscopy last week, so maybe that, on top of the prep, was just a bit too much for my system..... I'm just takin' er easy this weekend..... and, if need be, I will head to the ER, or perhaps Urgent Care, tomorrow, for any blood work that they may feel is necessary.

http://www.bevreview.com/2010/01/01/pepsi-throwback-december-2009-rerelease/ Yep, that's it. I'm sippin one now. They say it's only for a limited time so don't wait too long. Now if they came back with the original Coke you'd be feeling better in no time LOL

Remali, I want to throw in my unwanted 2cents also and say please talk to your doc about some bacis bloodwork. With all the problems you have been hammered with, I wonder if you aren't anemic, and that's just for starters.

Remali

I was just borderline anemic about a month ago, I think I should get re-tested. I did go to the ER this afternoon, I should have gone to one of the larger hospitals but I didn't have a ride so I went to the small one down the road from me...... my back has been really bothering me, as well as my just feeling generally yucky...... but I didn't get much help at this little ER, the MRI tech was not in so they told me to go back to my regular doc and get an MRI done on my back. And I imagine some blood tests......so, I'll have to call my doctor Monday....

Thanks! I'm hanging in there, I'll call my doctor back tomorrow and see what he suggests, he thought that the ER up here would be able to do something....but little did we know that this ER up here just sends everyone down to Eau Claire to the larger ER's. Kind of stupid if you ask me, the ER doc last nite actually told me that "she was not going to call the MRI tech in on a Saturday". Well, that is why they are on call for! And it was early on Saturday, only around 4:30 p.m., I think I just got a bad ER doc, she didn't want to be bothered.

I'm taking ibuprofen today and taking it easy.....
