We were suppose to leave out at 9:30 we didn't leave till almost 11! The lady that set it up didn't know there needed to be scouts and all that other stuff.....well we got some volunteers to do traffic and we got on our way.......we had a wagon but before we came up to the hwy intersection something broke on the wagon sent the mules running and literally 50 ft before the Hwy we got them stopped.......and there were kids on the wagon......okay so we wait there till someone came and got the mules and the wagon and we were on our way again........we get to our mid point were they were sponsoring our lunch and no one was there.......called them and guess what? There in Louisiana! Grrrrrrr

SOOOOOO then we rest for a bit let he horses get a drink and then we head off back for the trailers..........that went smooth except for one "know it all" teenager was getting her horse to rear up.....yes on command but when other horses are around don't do that.....yes it is great your horse can do things on command but do it on your own time not on the road when people are behind you......One lady said "Now why would you teach your horse that horrible habbit?" the teen said "it's not like he does it when he wants, he does it on command" then they argue blah blah blah........

Any who! Pics!

I asked how old that colt was cause he didn't look old enough to be ponied for 10 miles....he is 7 months TB/QH cross......Tucker is way bigger then he!

Sounds like a fiasco. Glad mules and occupants of the wagon were not hurt.

Is the foal Arab? They mature a little slower, though even that, he doesn't look 7 months to me either, more like 4.

Looks like lots of people were ponyin' youngins of one form or another!

Oh this was the St. Judes ride? Wow, that's a much larger ride than that here, and better run. Who is putting it together matters a lot!

No.....I asked the lady who ownes the colt if he was a pony breed because he is so small.....she said no that he was TB cross with QH then I asked how old......she said 7 months......I asked if he was a pony because she was riding a pony but when I asked if the horse she was riding was a pony she said no that he was full QH........that gelding couldn't have been over 13 hands so he was a pony.

But hey this was that know it all teens horses too........

Sounds like quite the adventure. Glad no one was hurt.

Some QHs do run smaller. My appendix QH filly was always on the small side. As a 2 year old she was only 13.3 hands and very small-boned. Not sure what she looks like now that I sold her - but I was quite sure she was never going to be big enough for me to ride. Even though Apache was younger than her, he always looked older because he was so huge compared to her.

Still, I"m not sure a 7 month old should be ponied 10 miles? Seems young to me.

That sucks it was so disorganized, but at least you were able to get out and ride. How tall do you think that little colt was?

There are some pretty horses there. I am loving that dun(or is it a buckskin?) App in that one picture.

I think that it is buckskin......that is the one that rears up on command

I hope the next one is better.......there were only like 25 people that came.....I was expecting a bigger turnout but hey it was the first one that lady put on......she will know better next time

Good grief! Sounds like a lot of chaos, but you had a good time in general, anyway, it seems.

Hopefully, next time, it will be more organized.

While I did enjoy the pictures I am a bit surprised that an organized trailride went on a paved road like that! I don't even ride ONE horse along the highway, let alone a group with small children and young foals. I am GLAD that no one was hurt on this ride.

Look at those seats on the wagon! They look like cushioned recliners! lol
