Today was the annual Fort Worth Stock Show Parade and my friend Rachel and I took our girls Sterling and June Bug. This parade is cool because it's all hoof stock or people on foot. No motorized vehicles allowed!! It's a HUGE event! There were 222 entrants today so there were at least a 1000 horses I bet! Several marching bands and tons of wagons! And shame on me! I didn't get enough photos! We decked our girls out with boas and glitter and stars in their tails, gold glitter on their hooves, but no photos of them before the parade! (or after for that matter!!) Sorry about that!

Here are the pics I did take though!

Sterling & June Bug love each other!! They are pasture buddies for the most part now that Sonora is gone! Although June Bug REALLY loves Sunny. .. poor Sterling!

Rachel and Me. We didn't know the group we were riding with had adopted the color green as their color! Sooooo I wore the bandanna they passed out and Rachel (the rebel. . lol) tied it around her saddle horn! I love this photo because you can see Sterling in my glasses!!!

Okay I lied, I did take a photo of Sterling's bling boa!! I was actually in the saddle when I took this shot! lol Made her look REALLY white!

Parade route, going up Main Street (sorry the world is crooked here! We were trotting up this hill most of the way!)

Rachel & June Bug! You can see her beads made by Dame_Wolf and her boa! Isn't the boa cool! Sterling had on a black one with gold accents!

The bridge view on the way back to the trailers!!

Overall the parade was a lot of fun! The group behind us annoyed me a bit because they didn't know how to stay off my horse's backside but there weren't any major explosions or accidents so it was another great ride! This year's parade had many more spectators than last year's. The streets were lined all the way! It wasn't as cold I guess.

Thanks for looking!

That is great EW. Sterling is real pretty and nice to see June Bug is all better after the colic scare. Wish sometimes that I lived in Fort Worth but don't. I am glad that you had a wonderful day.

That's so cool! I'd like to go down there and see that someday. Up here we have a giant trail ride with 1100 horses or so, but the parade is nothing like that. Wow!

Of course Steve!! There were TONS of Drafts!! Big huge wagons, little bitty wagons with ponies, a hafflinger hitch team, I didn't see many clydesdales though. . .mostly Belgians and Perchs. . and ponies. ..

Here are some of the drafties!! (Not my pictures!)
