There's a H/J group as well, isn't that what you do? I can't remember. xD
But yay, more members! :D

Yep, I'd say we're H/J....though we rarely show so we don't like labels, LOL

I don't know how to find groups anyways. New forum, got lots to learn!

At the top of the forum where it has all the links (User CP, FAQ, Members List, etc.) there is a link that says Quick Links, click on that and a menu type thing should pop up, look for Networking, then underneath it there should be a link that says Social Groups - click that. All of the Social Groups are listed and you can create your own group, leave a group, join a group, etc.

You can also find the Social Groups by going to your User CP, look for Networking, then underneath it there should be a link that says Social Groups -- so very similar to how you find it through the Quick Links menu. (:

To make it easier for you, though, here's the H/J link! :D

Being 61, I have a hunch I am the "Grandma of this Group" I hope I can still chime in from time-to-time:)

The only times I have ever used a saddle are in parades and back in the old days when I couldn't get on an organized ride without one.

Over the years, I have had three of my Keeper horses literally walking their butts down hills and digging up the other side ------------just hoping we'd get to the top or bottom before I slid off their butt or over their head:D

I still ride bareback, but the butt-sliding days ended a couple years ago:cowboy:

This the horse in my avatar, Duke & myself on New Year's Day, 2007. He had just turned 20 and I was "coming 60" - lol lol This was right before he became noticeably sick with Equine Metabolic Syndrome. I rode him last week for the first time since this picture and am thrilled to pieces that he is still the huge motored, well mannered fella he's always been. However, like me, his energy doesn't last as long as it used to, but his heart & willingness sure is as big as ever.

Duke was trying to hot-foot it into the driveway and I wouldn't let him - lol lol

Here we are coming from the other direction and this time I let him go in the driveway - lol Duke is a Tennessee Walker.

No one was around to take our picture last week (09-30-08), so all I have is Duke nosing my toe, telling me he is rested after the climb to the top of the ridge and wants to go again.

And these are my life-long "Ya-Ya Sisters" that came to visit me from the OH/PA border in July, 2006. Those are my three Tennessee Walkers (L-R), Duke, me on Rusty, and Joker. Those rolling pasture hills behind us are what keep my horses in shape because they don't get ridden near like they used to - lol

We are all of the age when all us "farm kids" learned to ride bareback first because there wasn't always money for such fancy things as saddles. Some of the kids had to make reins out of binder twine to use on their halters because there wasn't even money for a bridle. Those really were the Good Ole Days for us -- we were lucky, lucky, lucky to be raised up in farm life.
