This may be a bit odd, but I just wanted to post a few photos of my Kara, when I woke up today and realized what the date was, I remembered. It was on this day 22 years ago that she was delivered to me by her breeder from Dickinson, North Dakota.
She was a yearling when I bought her and was my dream horse. We had 23 happy years together, it has been about a year and a half since she passed away. I still miss her. I adore my new horse Ness, but Kara and I had a unique bond, people that saw us together would even comment on it. Anyway, just wanted to post some pics of NS Joi Kara. She was an amazing horse. :)

Thanks!.....she was really an extraordinary horse, she was the most quiet and gentle horse I've ever been around, she never spooked or bucked or refused to do anything I asked of her. And she just loved people, she could be way out at the far end of the pasture, but when she saw me at the gate she would always come running at a gallop to greet me, she was like a fairytale movie horse. Even a few people around here who didn't like Arabians changed their minds after meeting Kara, one QH trainer even called me up once to ask me if I would let her use Kara as one of her lesson horses (and she really did not like Arabians and let everyone know), I had to sort of chuckle over that. She was one in a million. My mom and dad even adored her and would go out to the barn to see her, even while I was at work sometimes, lol.

Kara is stunning.. I'm sorry for your loss, but at least you had 23 happy years together-- that's more than a lot of people have with their horses.

She was absolutely gorgeous, Renee! What an exquisite, yet sweet face she had. I'm sure you miss her very much.

Hopefully, Ness will also eventually have a close bond with you like Kara did.

Thanks everyone.....she was such a sweet horse. Ness reminds me of her a lot, both have a real kind attitude and both like people and are real willing to please. I already feel a bond with Ness, and I know that will only get better and better the more I work with her.

She was a beautiful girl. I love her face like I love your new baby's face. Her coloring was beautiful too.

You are lucky I guess that you can look at pictures. It's been 2 yrs since I lost my boy and I still can not look at a picture. My cousin is an artist and she featured him in a book which I got the day he died, I don't know what she did with his photos because I can't look. My heart breaks every day. I think I need a shrink or something I don't know, I just can not get over it. We had such a bond I can not even describe it, I think he wouldn't die because he didn't want to leave me, I had to tell him it was OK to go. My vet told a friend it was the worst day of his career. I have 3 horses now, I never expected to have them and sometime feel guilty that I do. I love them but not like I loved my first boy and I feel they deserve so much more. I spent 1/2 of yesterday crying about it all.

Anyway she was a beauty, I am so sorry you lost her but glad you had her. I can totally understand how your heart is breaking from loosing her. Maybe we need to form a support group!

She's just beautiful!! I hope Sterling and I are lucky enough to have 23 years together!! I've had her for 15 so far and I sometimes wish I could start them all over again. Glad you shared your girl again. It's that type of horse that never leaves us.

Beautiful horse! It's got to be comforting to know you will always have the memories and pictures to encourage them. I'm not convinced that those type of bonds are once in a lifetime and I hope you and Ness start building a similar bond.

Thank you everyone....she really had a great disposition, I've never seen such a "happy" horse, she was never "mare-ish" or moody ever.

She was a Crabbet/Polish cross, a granddaughter of the Polish import *Hal Gazal, and she also had Raffon in her bloodlines, and many crosses to *Raseyn.
