I have an iPod, and I never really thought I'd like one (I'm more of a mixtape/mixCD gal when it comes down to it;))... but as a music junkie, I love it!

Mine's a 60gb, and with 2000ish songs downloaded and several dozen pictures, I've used less than 6% of the memory on it. My goal is to eventually fill it completely with music, but I think it'll take quite awhile... so unless you really love music, or are going to use it for stuff other than music, then there isn't really a point in getting one of the ones with huge memories.

I have an Mp3 player, but I don't like it as much because I can't put as much on it. The only really negative thing about the iPod is that if it breaks, then you have to send it back to Apple... and you constantly have to update iTunes. A small sacrifice to keep basically my entire music collection in one place, to me. :)

I think it is... but I read it as iPod vs. other brands... I don't know the brand of my other mp3. :)

I prefer MP3 players due to the fact you can pull music off your own CDs and play it on there. My understanding is with an ipod you need to get all your music through iTunes. You can get MP3 players that have a larger capacity. Plus an MP3 player doesn't need the docking station to charge and load - its just a simple wire connection to any computer.

I have 2 MP3 players. One is just a MP3 player, but the other is a MP3 player and radio combo - love it.

I put all the songs I had before I got my ipod and itunes on the ipod when I got it. Anything I can put on the puter I can put on my ipod.

No, I've never bought a single song off iTunes... and I just have a USB single wire from my computer to my iPod, no docking station required either. :) If you don't want to plug your iPod in to your computer to charge, then you can buy a wire to plug it in to the wall.

Maybe its the style of ipod then because one of our IT guys was complaining because his daughter's ipod had a docking station and it broke and there was no cord alternative so he had to send the whole contraption in to be fixed.

An iPod IS an MP3 player. xD Just a name brand one. Sillies.

I have an iPod Nano (Classic) 2GB. I've barely even used 50% of it. lol. I delete some songs when I get tired of them and never listen to them.

You don't have to buy songs to have them put on an iPod. I've put many CD's on mine. iTunes is just an additional thing, and it's really neat. I don't have to go to the store to buy a CD and I can buy just one song, not the whole CD. Plus you can hear a 30 second sample of all the songs.

When it comes down to it, I'd get an iPod. :) There are other brands, such as Zune, but I still like iPods.

Huh. I had a docking station, I gave it to Will because I never used it... but there are plenty of alternatives (maybe it was one of the really old ones... I don't know if my Uncle's had to have a docking station or not). :)

Oh, the only thing I don't like about my iPod is that you can only charge it through a computer unless you buy an outrageously expensive iPod house or wall charger. No thanks! It comes with a USB cord, which you hook to your computer to sync songs and charge the iPod, but it still kind of gets on my nerves when I want to charge my iPod but I don't want to turn my computer on and plug it all in that way.

I have a MP3 player with radio on it, and I love it!! Never had an Ipod, though I do really really want one of those Apple Ipod Touch things. Seen it advertised on TV and I love it! Looks awesome!

Can't help you though with which is better MP3 or Ipod. Best of luck!
