I am actively looking for an arab or arab cross... found a few of them. We're buying land right now.. but if I find the right horse I'll just board her (I want a mare this time around) until then.
I have looked into some rescues too.
I know how WB feels about them ;)
I'm hoping I can find a real versatile trail horse.. might get into endurance riding or competition trail riding etc.
Right now horses are going for free or cheap it's wild!

Good choice, I hope you find her!
Prices are all over the board. You can still pay money for horses to people who know horses should be worth money, but there are plenty of good horses out there in the hands of those who don't.

I was thinking the same thing. It's kind of sad though.. you see ads where its obvious the owners dont want to sell them. But they have to. I found one lady doing background checks. I cant blame them.. but its still sad. Maybe it will work out that I help someone out and a horse who needs a good home.
I'm not jumping the gun on anything.. I am waiting to see whats out there. Try a lot of them out etc.

There are so many really nice horses for sale right now for dirt cheap.....that was how I found Ness (well, they sold a lot of their horses after the barn was demolished by a tornado that went thru here, I actually remember that storm too....). Have fun looking, you'll find the right one!

God luck on your search! I didn't even try to sell a horse this summer because of all the cheap and free ones available. I have Morabs but the only filly I have is not for sale at the moment and I just got my mare back from the trainer and haven't even ridden her yet.

Too bad you aren't closer, chances are you wouldn't be interested anyway but my friend has [or had, she might have sold her already] a little arab mix for sale. She's a strange color, she's white and grey, has dapples on one leg and looks sort of like a light grey paint in front. She's small, she's petite, but I can ride her OK. She can be a handful at times but other times she's real quiet. She's being ridden Western now but I am thinking she looks like she was an English pony at one time. She's a cute little thing and very very smart.
Last weekend we were taking care of the stable because they were away. The area she was in was not the best for her we found out later, the two bigger horses were wanting her away from the food even though I was making 4 seperate piles for 3 horses. Anyway I decided to feed her where the others couldn't see and all's it took was one time of doing that and she would see me and go to that area where she could eat in peace and the other two were to stupid to know where she went so they couldn't chase her! I thought that was very smart of her. She leads nice and she's been worked with because she'll trot right by my side with no problems. I hope she'll get a real good home. The worst part of being at the stable is falling in love with every horse that comes through the door and just hoping that a great person will buy it.
I hope that you will find your perfect horse.

Don't usually hear about arabs, just not my world, but hear about free horses quite a bit. If your heart is set on an arab, might not be able to help, but if you are open, I will forward the "free" emails if you like. Right now, a friend sent me an email from a teacher at her school trying to find a home for a thoroughbred.

Good Luck on your search. I got Legend from the rescue (though not an Arab cross) she has been the best horse I have ever had yet. :) Yep she's needed some fine tuning but nothing that wasn't drastic. Hope you find your cross!
