Some of you may remember me shareboarding Max, a Quarter horse gelding, last year. He was seriously my best friend. We would do anything for each other and he loved to give me kisses. :p Unfortunately, when I got my job last summer as camp wrangler, I had to end my shareboard. I probably wouldn't have even been looking for horsey jobs if it weren't for the fact that the barn was always enveloped in drama. It was not a fun place to be at all. All of my friends that I had there got in massive, very public, fights with the BO and had left within the two years leading up to this. I suppose that made me the BO's next target, although I had never done anything to make her angry.
Max's owner was giving me a deal on my shareboard because she loved the way I rode him. All of a sudden, the BO starts talking to her and telling her that I am a terrible rider and Max isn't collected or on the bit when I'm riding him. That ended with me not being allowed to ride Max unless it was under the BO's supervision and "all seeing eye." She didn't let me ride unless I had such a tight grip on the reins that Max's chin was literally shoved against his own chest. I hated riding like that (I knew it wasn't right and it was painful for Max), and left when I got my camp job.
Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. I posted a note on facebook using pictures to answer the questions. One of them was "Who is someone you miss?" I posted this picture of me and Max.

I finished the note and tagged my friends who were in the rest of the pictures. One of them, a girl who had left the barn after a big fight with the BO, commented on how she was wondering how Max is doing. I told her "I don't know, but I want to go visit him sometime." Max's owner, who was not tagged, then commented "I WOULD mind if you visited my horse, Max." Needless to say, personalities clashed and it ended up being Max's owner against all of my friends who had left the barn previously battling it out. She kept telling me that she has nothing against any one of us. So I called her out and told her "Aparently you have something against someone here, and no one has done anything to you. I'm more than willing to stand up for any one of us (my friends she was picking on)." :nono: She quit after that.
Seriously, what is up with the drama? I feel like I can never escape it. I haven't been to the barn or seen Max in almost a year, and I'm still being dragged into it! Are there no sane horse people left in the world?!
