Beauty: Two years <3

Ok, I just got done making the longest video in the history of hobbitkind. And I appologize in advance for it's longness.:innocent: But I have been working on this video for well over a month and going through all of the old pictures and videos I have of Beauty just brought back so many memories. Let me tell you, it's impossible to fit two years of your life into a tidy little 3-4 minute video. I tried and failed. An epic fail.:doh: I didn't even come close.:innocent: But here's the deal: If you want to watch the video but are not willing to do so in one sitting (don't blame you there, 10:37 is crazy long:crazy: I'm sorry:o), watch until you get to where it says "2009-2010 The 2nd Year". Then come back and watch the rest later whenever you want. You won't get the full effect but pretty close to it.;):) lol:p Also, you don't have to watch the credits or anything after that. I just didn't want to cut the song off because I like it so much, so I pretty much just let it play out at the end.

There are very few edited special effects in this video. It's very straightforward, just a very honest look at where we started and the road we traveled to get to where we are now. I unfortunately have never been lucky enough to catch our "crazy" moments on video, like the falls and freakouts, etc. But with the exception of that stuff, our past is all in the video.:)


The pictures and clips in this video are mostly in a decent order, starting with when I first got her in January 2008 up until about a week ago. I know my equitation sucks, my riding skills are not what they should be. But please don't critic me on video clips from the first year (2008). It took me a while to get used to riding Beauty and her gaits are rough and difficult to sit and she needed a lot of work. I did a lot of cringing when I watched the riding clips from our first year together but we have improved since then so that's something, right? And I'm proud of how far she's come. I know a lot of people with more riding experience who are better trainers could have brought her a lot farther than I have, but what we've accomplished we've done together- the blind leading the blind, both of us learning as we went along. And things are turning out ok.

It's wonderful to watch how far you and Beauty have come in the last two years. You have such a bond with both her and Dakota. They're both lucky to have their forever homes with you!

Yep, she was really skinny when I got her. And actually the pictures don't really show just how thin she was. It was pretty sad.:( It makes me so angry because I know they must not have been feeding her much of anything because she's such an easy keeper. You'd have to almost starve her to get her that thin. The story they told me started with a bad wolf tooth that made it difficult for her to chew. So, instead of having the vet/dentist out, they just stopped giving her grain because she couldn't chew it.:mad: She said her daughters were in charge of feeding the horses and they pretty much just ignored Beauty all together.:mad:

I wish I had videos like that of my horses. Maybe someday-sigh

Awesome, I actually had a chill go up my spine at the start! Great songs and great text--what tribute to your journey! You can just see your bond growing and Beauty improving over time!

Originally she had been bought for barrel racing and her daughters ran her at different rodeos and Beauty did pretty good, but then they got new horses and just stopped caring about her. So naturally they also stopped feeding her, brushing her, trimming her hooves, and turned her out with all the horses (three or four I think) who beat her up. She had the marks to prove it.
