My worker was late this morning, so I went and fed the horses. Left handed of course, and I made multiple trips.
First I went out and loved on Myst. She was Sooooo happy to get her neck and chest rubbed and to smell on me. And City, he got his mind worked for a sec. He walks by me, but when he does I shush him so he turns his butt away, then gets his head rubbed.
His shushing is what he strives for, someone to make him think. He loved it.
Then I went and got his pellets, then Mysts, then got my tie for my basket and slid the hay out to them. They were very happy.
Thing is, I still smell them on my hand and it smells Soooooooooo good!
Its healing to the soul.
I am going to go out later and love on them, then I will open the gate for them to hang together.

I know exactly what you mean. When I was little and first started riding, my mother thought I was insane for not wanting to wash my hands after my lesson. The horsey smell was just too good! I could smell my hands and be happy. I still love the smell now!

I'm glad you got to go out and see your babies.:) I love that smell too. Every night when I feed my horses I always lean against them and bury my face in the necks and just inhale. They smell so good, so comforting.

I know what you mean! Sometimes, when it's too cold to take my gloves off during feeding, I'll stick my face in Gypsy's fuzzy coat and inhale!

I agree.... nothing better than that smell!
Off topic, my hubby goes in today to get an MRI on his shoulder.. so we'll see what they say! I'm thinking he might have the same issue you did before surgery.

I sure hope if he does, that he gets into surgery quickly. Its no fun waiting for it.
Keep us posted on that.
And yes to everyone. There is NOTHING better than the smell of a horse.

Aww yes Vick,,the healing smell of your horse :) When I feed my boys I always bury my head into Bones's neck, take a deep breath and then give him a kiss.. Even when he is covered in mud I can always find a spot on his neck to kiss..

I totally agree. The smell of horses is amazing. I love getting in my car the day after a lesson, because the smell still lingers :) Only horse people don't think this is crazy.
