I realize that snow is not very exciting to most of you. Heck I'm so sick of winter myself that it's not very exciting to me either! But we got a record breaking 12 inches yesterday so of course I took pics. What good is taking pics if you don't share. . So here I am to share them. I've never seen this much snow in my entire life! It's up to the horse's knees in places!! Just nutty!

This was yesterday. It was snowing so hard nobody was out of the shed and they all looked miserable!!

Well everyone except my dogs. . .they had a great time!! I won't post all their pics but this is my old dog Sable. She's 12 this year and she LOVES snow!

Goats are NOT impressed. They are covered with a tarp, their dog house has a wool floor for warmth, they have a heat lamp and an old waterproof horse blanket on top of their dog house. All 3 of them stayed holed up in the shelter all day yesterday!! We even put their hay in there with them so they could munch and stay warm! That's Lele looking at me from the door. . .

Shadow wasn't sure he liked the snow until Piper picked some up in her mouth and he realized he could eat it and carry it! Then he was REALLY happy about the snow. I'm glad we have him.

My old girl does NOT like snow. Here she is holed up next to Sonora, and then below she came out because it was feeding time but you can tell she wasn't happy about it.

Sonora getting a drink. . (I love my de-icer! Best thing I've ever bought for the horses!)

The boys and their snowman!! About 30 minutes after this you could no longer see the snowman's eyes or buttons. . . it had snowed over them!

June Bug was miserable. . .

This one is from today! The snow has come to an end which means the horses are MUCH happier! This is the view into their pasture towards the hay ring.

Sonora thought Greg was coming to catch her to go work a bit. . she did not want to get close just in case. ..

Frozen pond. This is the back part of our pasture for the horses. That's actually our neighbors pond but they can't see it from their house. It's like a secret pond that only we can see. ..lol. It's pretty!

Horses doing what they do best!!

Anyways, thanks for letting me share. Hopefully this snow will be gone by tomorrow. I have big riding plans this weekend. (if I ever get to feeling better). I don't like being snowed in!

12 inches is a lot of snow for anyone, particularly Texas!

Part of me is jealous because we've had no snow days this year... But only part ;)

Great pictures... of course! :)

Beautiful pics EW! I love the snow (maybe that's why I stay in Canada!!) I am getting a little sick of it though, but it's just so beautiful!

I have to laugh though! My boss is heading to Texas today for a holiday and was all like "I'll be thinking of you while I sit in Texas where there's NO SNOW!!" HAHA! Jokes on him I guess! I'll have to ask him how the "warm weather" was in Texas!! lol
We got a nasty system that moved through here a few weeks ago. We got about 36" in a day! And more then next day and more the next day...you get the picture! We have LOTS of snow here!

BTW: You have such an awesome eye for photography! I wish you lived closer and I'd hire you to take pics of my horses!

That is nuts. You are living an Northwest snow experience there, EW. Lots of snow that melts away relatively quickly puts you on the schedule for a big, muddy, flooding mess. Enjoy it while it's clean!

I'm with you, Shane. I hope it never snows here again. That's why I'm rooting for global warming.
