I collect horse figurines. I even have one painted of, guess who???? Painted City.
My kitchen is done up of yellow and green(husbands color, not mine..lol)and it has frogs in it. I am sooooo not into frogs anymore..lol. Hoping one day to go back to my country blue style in there. Then Ill get horsey towels, ect. I know that'll end up a collection in itself.
What sort of things do you collect.

Breyer horse models. The older kinds like from about 20-50 years ago. I get em off ebay every once and a while. :D

Oh ya, I bought a few of those at an antique shop. I love Breyers. The painted one I have of Painted City, is a breyer model redone for me.

I used to love to collect things, I've slowed down since I've gotten older.
I've got collections of horses of course. I have about two big bags of those super teeny tiny plastic horses...I only have a couple of doubles too! I've got the big horses that I used for my barbies. Non-horsey wise I have collected bookmarks. Funny thing is, I hate reading but I've got tons of bookmarks  Well, at least I'm prepared if I ever do start reading a lot! :)
The only thing that I'm kind of moving towards collecting right now are the painted ponies, I've got two right now; Silverado and Blue Medicine.
ETA - Oh and livaward reminded me that I love collecting any and all comforatable blankets and/or pillows! Basically anything that will be of comfort to me! Hehe..on a side note, I think this goes along with me liking my guys(not that I have any ;) ) in sweaters, they always look so warm and cozy! :innocent:

Well I think I collect cats. Just kidding. (although i do have a large collection of those. . .) I guess my largest collection of anything is my disneyland pins. Lol. In Disneyland there is this thing people do called pin trading (I don't trade mine) but you can buy pins of different things while you are there. I think I have around 50 but I've never counted. They remind me of being in the park which is my favorite place on earth. I'm a dork.
I also have a collection of Breyers from when I was young but I've been slowly but surely selling those on ebay. (probably sold close to 50 in the last 2 years.) I'll probably keep some of my favorites and some of my smaller sturdier ones have joined ranks with my son. He isn't extremely easy on them but he enjoys playing with them

Porcelain dolls (30+), breyers (traditional) from the 60's to now(120+), anything horsey(???). Sports memorabilia/autographs. Hubby is into collector cars (scale) and major sports memorabilia collections autographs.
Glad we have a big house LOL!

Apparently I collect tack that I got for Muffin and he decided to grow out of .
I just recently started collecting (by accident) wooden puzzles. It's fun when company comes over and can't figure out how to put them together, take them apart, or figure out how to get the marble out. lol TSC had some by the cash register so I got a few and ended up buying more. The hubby can't even figure out half of them. lol
I also like funny horse signs painted on wood, metal or whatever. I have a few like:
"My house was clean last week sorry you missed it" Wooden plaque with a horse shoe painted on it.
"I'm ok, Really!!!" Painted on an upside down horse with it's legs sticking up, wood sign.
"My horse is not spoiled, I'm just well trained" Painted on a metal cut out horse shape sign.
"Tack Room" Not so funny by it's self but it's funny when I mount it on the Hubbys garage door:)
"spoiled horse lives here" This one has a horse head painted on it that happens to look like Muffin.
I guess that's it. I don't really collect stuff... I can't think of anything else. ohh, wooden masks. We have lot's of carved wooden masks. When Hubby went overseas one of our friends was stationed overseas too and he got me a big wooden mask as a gift from the place he was stationed. So after that every time Hubby or any of are close friends went overseas they would bring me back some kind of wooden mask or art. Hubby even bought some carved story boards, big carved seahorse, dancing horse and some more masks for me when he was gone. Kinda turned in to a collection so now they are all over the living room showing all the different places he has been or a friend. Pretty neat! We don't get any now. The friend is out of the military and Hubby isn't going overseas again for a while so I think that's it for the collection.
I collect breyers, rose-tea figurines, and dust bunnies. Hubby collects swords and we collect dragon figurines together (though this is on hold until our basement and bar area are done which will be a couple years). Oh, hubby also collected PEZ - so much so that we had pez candies with our name & wedding date as favores and mickie & minnie pez dispensors dressed in wedding apparel as our table center peices. I think that collection has stayed boxed up downstairs though ever since we moved. I'm sure someday it will be brought out again.

This is a great idea for a thread! I think it's going to make us all sound a bit nutty though. :p
I collect books mainly. My mother can take hers back to the used book store or donate them to goodwill... but I just can't. Once I read a good book I can't give it back - I have a relationship with it and I love it and you don't just go giving things you really truly love to Goodwill! This may be why I have a bookcase, two book shelves, two rubbermaid containers filled with books and several spread about in random places across two states that I'm known to inhabit. :D
I also collect license plates on a small scale - I have 5 hanging up around my computer from 3 states - I like to think about where they came from and the different places they might've been or what the car's they were on did on a daily basis. I used to have a whole stack of them from going to junkyards and pulling them off cars, but my father threw them out in the last move.
Photography, family pictures, posters, ticket stubs (personal ones, not just random ones I find), jewelery, quotes (you should see my bathroom...). Unfortunately the packrat gene runs in my family to the nth degree... so I have a lot of stuff I don't need but "might need someday".
Of course, I'm also a collector of almost anything horsey. :cowboy:

Your not alone in the book collecting thing, alittleoffkey! I do the same thing- if I like a book, it stays. In fact, I have some paperbacks that I've had since 1979!
I also collect horse figurines- Breyers when I can get them, but they're expensive. Otherwise, any that look nice!

I have an addiction to old pottery and kitchen ware. I have my parent's old kitchen set from the '50's and have tried to make the kitchen look sort of from that time best I can. I found retro looking appliances that I just love but they cost so much I'll never get them. We plan on putting a linoleum floor down. I have some old cookie jars, one was my grandmothers that she always had on the fridge from when I was a tiny kid. There's old stuff all over the kitchen, I like decorating, I hate cooking! The pottery is in every single room in the house. I love that some of it is from the 1920's and '30s and has survived. It's also what I remember from when I was little. My relatives had alot of McCoy pottery. There is a big McCoy vase in my parent's wedding picture. I have pottery all over the place. We had to take photos for insurance purposes, I think I have over 200 pieces, maybe more, I have to stay off of e-bay, if I even look to see what is selling I buy more and I have run out of room.
I seem to collect photos too, I love photography and have photos that need to be framed but I have no more wall space left.
I like the horses they have now and I can't think of what they are called, Painted Ponies or something???? I have a few of them. I have a lamp too with a Leopard App. My old boy was a Leopard App.
I also collect Dolls by Annette Himstedt, a German Artist and I have a few antique dolls. When I was a kid I never wanted dolls, only horse models. Now I have lots of dolls. They have very real looking faces, their eyes even look real. They freak some people out.
I have lots of books too, I enjoy books.
Last but not least some people tell me I collect animals. I don't really I just love them and always want to give one a home if it needs it. We don't have that many. My doggy who is my best friend [He's 11 now and I'm getting scared, my other dogs have died at 10, 11 or 12], 3 kitties [One new kitten], 2 parrots, a house bunny and 3 horses. I don't think that's too many. It's not like the pottery addiction!
I guess my largest collection of anything is my disneyland pins. Lol. In Disneyland there is this thing people do called pin trading (I don't trade mine) but you can buy pins of different things while you are there. I think I have around 50 but I've never counted. You are definately not a dork I love Disney, except I go to Disney World, going there this weekend for the Food & Wine Festival, I also went in September for my 40 B-Day, my hubby and I went horseback riding, they have great trailrides there we had a blast, we stayed at Fort Wilderness. I haven't started collecting pins yet maybe its time for me to start!

Really?
They're in air-tight containers in baking soda, trust me ;).
When I was little I would never throw batteries away :D And...I just kind of 'collected' them :p
I've had 5 leak out of over 50; something to do with them being stored in baking soda.:cowboy:

I collect Painted Pony figurines......but I have sold a few of them, the older figurines started bringing a lot of money, so a friend of mine put two of them on ebay for me....and we got $400 for them! Unreal. So, I am now thinking of selling my collection, I have the older first edition ponies and they seem to be the ones people want. Altho I am torn, and want to keep some of them, so I won't sell all of them. But, it was a nice way to get a little extra money when I was looking for work and on unemployment. I don't have very many, maybe 10 of them now.
