On Deviantart.com, someone's posted pictures of the horses and claimed them as their own!

I've heard of people searching through people's photobucket account, flikr, and other photo sites and just "adopting" other people's lives. I guess the best form of flattery is immitation but yeah, that's weird, scary and a little violating.

I think so WB. I think it's happened to several of us in the past couple of years. I don't care if people like my pictures, or even save them to their computer - but if they claim my horses are theirs, they've got another thing coming to them.

I feel bad for Pinto, she didn't want her. (haha)

Edit: But she did claim a picture of Will's niece and two of her cousins was a picture that she took, and that is totally NOT okay.

It happened to Taylor, I remember the site, they claimed Laredo to be a 6yo thoroughbred or something.. And they had a WHOLE WEBSITE about it. Taylor was not happy! It got taken down though because everyone boycotted the site.

Its quite stupid XD Especially when you can post a pic of yourself with a piece of paper saying "____<(account name here) owns this horse. NO ONE ELSE." Le duh!

Omg, this stuff ticks me off. I've had numerous people sign up for YouTube & take my video. One account was cloedolll, one was cloedollSUCKS...ya know, stuff like that. But then their name is 'cloedollsucks' and yet they post videos of me? Lmao. Then I catch them, they say how sucky of a rider I am and they leave. It's lovely. Someone made an entire website out of Cloe, Laredo and other YouTube horses. Thaaat was funny.

It looks like the account no longer exsists?? That's good! :)

They've taken down the pictures we complained about... but the account was still there earlier. They took them down pretty quickly... probably because at least 4 or 5 people were filing complaints about each one of the pictures. It was probably getting obnoxious. :D

I deal with that everyday with the sims game, mostly kids and teenagers stealing photo's because they wish they had those horses and like to lie.

I had someone within the game once using my photos of Java claiming it was her 4yr old tb... we got a good laugh at that one considering Java is famous on the game because they know all about his theft fiasco last year.

If ya'll ever see your stuff being used on deviantart.com or any other site, I am a member of pretty much all the photo sharing sites there are haha let me know I can report them very quickly! :-D

I'm glad, I sent complainants about each of the photos and just got a notification that they were all taken down. Geez some people I swear. Hopefully the girl learned her lesson.

I used to be very active on a horse role playing site just like the one you posted. The administrator on the site I played on was very adamant about getting written permission that you could use a photo. Or the more simple and less hectic way of just getting stock photos off deviantart and linking it back to their page. That's a big reason I don't understand photo theft, there are accounts dedicated on deviantart for people to make manips out of them. I would contact the administrator and tell them about it, or making a guest thread if you can. Most sites don't want a lot of negative things on their websites and usually have the member take the photo down.

Yeah WB, that happened to me once a while ago. Some girl on another board posted my avater pic and some others of Even claiming it was her Percheron mare that she foxhunted with and was selling. A friend of mine spotted it and I contacted the admin and it was taken down and she was banned. It was durring a brief period where I had him for sale and I guess she got the pictures off equine.com or something because I wasn't a memeber of any photo sharing sites or anything at the time...
