Well today was my first day back after a nice three day weekend.
The first thing I find out is that there was a big layoff at work:eek::(:( and about 8 of my co-workers was "fired":(:( due to the economy.
They are still wanting to move people around to make the schedule work. With that said, I again will be working a full schedule of 5 day's:huh::doh::)! Now with the bad news, I don't know if I will keep my same days off!!!! I'll find out soon enough.
I guess the real good news here is that I still have my job:)
I feel really bad for the people who got laid off or termed today. I know that jobs are pretty scarce out there with all the hiring freezes.
I really hope whoever is elected into office can pull us out of this horrible recession SOON!
I just had to get this off my chest. It hasn't been this bad in Vegas ever. Even with 911 (9-11-01), we did not lay people off. Our hours was cut but they kept everyone working.
It's pretty scary out there!

Sorry. That is scary. I had heard that Nevada was struggling. Understandable, since so much of its economy is based on entertainment, which is the first thing families cut out when times get tough.

Hang in there. The economy will eventually turn around no matter who is elected on Tuesday.

Thank you jackieB. It's just sad to see some really nice people lose their jobs, especially at this time of year with the economy as it is and no jobs on the board, thats sad.
Even with the new Casino's that are scheduled to open have been delayed/postponed until further notice.
I mean, if you happened (God forbid) get laid off or ?, you walk down the street to the next casino and get hired on the spot. This is not the case today.
