There's been a mini little series of problems and i'm just gonna start from where they began so that you guys get the full just of things..
Recently i've been offered by a girl at my yard, to ride her horse in mornings over this half - term holiday, and that was great! I don't ride alot anyway so it would be a chance for e to have some fun and see what it's really like to have a horse.
So on sunday morning I had THE TIME OF MY LIFE on pepsi, honestly it was so amazing, I had so much fun and it really made me even more eager for a horse, and what I could learn from it and enjoy..
On sunday evening, the owner of Pepsi rode her and said she was quite lazy, which is understandable seeing as I rode her in the morning, so she asked me not to ride this morning (monday morning) so I didn't and I was fine with that :)
But then this evening (monday evening), I get another text from her saying that she would prefer it if I didn't ride Pepsi this week at all as she was still lazy.
But that made me annoyed, how could she still be lazy and how is it MY fault that she still is when I never even rode her! :(
And to top it all off, she sends me another text saying that I wasn't allowed to ride Pepsi again, even she I was due to in two week's time whilst the owner was on holiday. That's what made me really upset! And the fact that it was people at my yard who had told her that it could be dangerous if I rode her becuase i'm not good enough.. :'(

So this got me thinking, I am the only one at my yard without a horse or pony, and I always go down to the stables and just sit there and watch people, and occasionally I have to odd ride on someone's horse..
I'm sure i'm ready for a loan, i'm 100 percent sure i'm ready for a loan! But at the moment my yard can't offer that to me as they don't have the horses to loan out.. :-/
So what do I do? Any advice would be appreciated! I would honestly hate to move yards because this one is perfect, all my friends are there, it's generally fun and it's right next to my house. But if i'm gonna be held up only riding once a week for 45 minutes then that's the way it's gonna have to be ..

Well, honestly, it sounds like this owner is not really emotionally ready to lease out her horse to someone else, or the horse is not ready, or both. Hard to tell from here if she's just being over-protective of her horse or there's really something off about her, or if other people are interfering.

I can understand over-protective, I might be overprotective myself, if leasing out my horse, but at least I recognize that and haven't done it... No matter what her reasons, it doesn't sound like a real good deal for you!

I'd look for other, simpler opportunities to ride, in case this gal can't or won't get herself and horse together so it's a good experience for all of you.

I'm sorry Cameron :/ I don't think theres much you can do. If there is no loan available, are you ready to buy?

@Washington Bay ; She's not offering pepsi to loan, it's just so i can ride her a small period of time, but thanks for your advice :)

@allie0 ; Hmm, I suppose you're right, and no my parents aren't offering that to me as yet, I guess i'm just gonna try one last time to ask my yard and hope for the best :/

That's really a bummer! Maybe a lease opportunity will come up soon!

I don't know what to do in your case. What about taking lessons?
