Okay, it's been weeks since I was over to horse.com's forum. I just happened to post one thread there yesterday since I made my horse blanket choice there originally and wanted to make sure everyone got to see it.

I don't know if I should go back. They're kinda grouchy about us being gone. I dono if I can take the drama...

Anyone else feel that way too?

I go back at least every other day and at least read what's going on. They're kinda grouchy because several people (no offense to anyone this includes, I really don't remember who said what ;)) tried to corner them into coming over here... and it's really hard to corner someone over the internet, so they never came.

I ignore the drama - I go over there to see friends who didn't move with us - not to read the ruckus. :cowboy:

I would say, if you post over there, do not bring WBs site up.
And especially with certain people.
I mean, to each his or her own, and if it were my site, I could care less which site you talked about, I wouldnt OWN you. What happened to freedom of speech, its not like you were talking about sex, politics or religion.
Anyway, if ya post over there, keep it WB clean. NO talk about WBs site.
I cringed just reading it...
I ONLY go there to post when someone comes here to tell us of an issue, and I am on the sale/trade board.

Heh... Well, you did poke them with a stick. Bad, bad swms! :innocent:

The family still lives, it's just moved. Most of those who are there but not here have some personal reason, and they don't want to be told about us. I don't understand the reason in most cases, but perhaps in time they'll come around.

The good news from your post is that you've mentioned us again so that those who ARE actually wondering where everyone went can find us.

So that part's good. :)

The ones that are mad, you're just going to make them madder.

I post rarely there, but if they want to be grouchy, let them. If we want to be grouchy, let us. Lol, just don't let it bother you. It's not illegal for you to post and check back there or something. =P

LOL. I actually mentioned your forum on purpose before I realized someone was actually going to STILL be grouchy about it. I just can't figure out why? I mean people over there are on like 10 forums, why would one more make any difference? Maybe they're just jealous of you WB. Yeah, that's it! Your forum BLOWS all the others out of the water. :p

I agree!! This forum is awesome!!!

I don't post over there anymore, and never really did post much. I've posted more here, because it seems so much more welcoming. Doesn't seem like everyone is grouchy, in their own clicks, etc. To me it's home here. Here it's like Everybody gets along with everybody, and if you don't, then you just stay away from them and don't cause drama.

I rarely check h.com unless someone here says something about someone having problems and I'll post over there to let them know I'm thinking about them. To many unworking features over there still. Plus I've moved houses now. :D

I post occasionally just as if there never was any disagreement. If you would like to post, post. :) If you prefer to sit the trot, that's OK, too. Bwahahahahaha!

I still post on both, but I look on forums more for the information than the social scene. I personally wasn't all that worried about the lack of an edit button or the fact that I would have to click on one extra button just to see how many posts had been made. I came here because it did seem like it would take forever to get a change in scenery over there. I do still check in on things there just as often as I do here.

Yeah, you definitely poked em good. Don't take it personally. They are good people, just don't want to be told about us over here. I don't understand it either but I've accepted it. Miss em like crazy but I don't post over there because someone was counting how many times people were posting there and holding it against us. Which made me a tad angry. Not that I told them or anything. I just let it go.

Oh and ALOK, I was one that tried to convince some of them to come over here but I don't necessarily think I tried cornering them. I asked nicely and told them how much I would miss them and when they told me they didn't like the attention I apologized and moved on.

I don't understand why they're staying there. Sure the website has changed but that doesn't mean a whole lot. WE make the forum, not a web url.

I stopped posting on that one just because everyone's being so mean for no apparent reason :(

They aren't sticking around there. Almost everyone has found other forums to go to. It's just central meeting ground right now. Each of them said they were on other forums also, just not this one.

To be honest, I had stopped going to the horse.com forum all together. It was too much for me, just like I haven't been able to go back to the barn since I sold Samson. I won't ever consider going back over there, I'll stay here.

Given that I don't ride, really have any knowledge of horses, and don't own a horse I was sooooooooooooooooo happy when Caitlin emailed me and very happy to be invited over here. I even stole my mom's laptop so I can log in after work!

I love you guys, seriously, I do.

I have only gone back there once, and it was to post on an issue that WB let us know about. Its not that I dont like the people there, I just find it too annoying to navigate through that site and post. Its too much of a hassel I guess

I popped over a few times after it crashed, but I deffo got the "ghost town" shivers. Plus I didn't like how there were gaps all over the place. I've definitely dumped it now (for want of a better word)...and HGS, though they were really nice and friendly over there. This is my official tinterweb horsy home :D *hugs*

I very rarely go over there and just lurk. Curiosity has me look and I see the daily chat posts and it's sad. Really there aren't that many people over there any more. I truely wish some of our friends would just give up the ghost and come here. It's obvious that the IT people at h.com are letting the forum part die out.

Most of us are here now and that's what matters. Hopefully a few others will come.

WB..... I am SOOOO glad you and your hubby did this for all of us! I made the suggestion to h.com when it first crashed. But they didn't listen. Oh, well, now we have a BETTER forum to come to.:)

shewasmyshadow
11-03-2008, 11:51 AM
Yeah, if the h.com IT department was paying attention they would have told whoever is in charge. If they knew they'd be FURIOUS. :D Washingtonbay/boy single handedly (wait double handedly) stole everyone from the forum and transplanted them here. This new environment suits me fine too. The grass is greener, the sun is shinier and the sky is bluer. :)

I haven't been to the horse.com forum in a looong time. I think it's been a week or so. I'm not even having withdrawls anymore...(lol, kidding). A few days ago I accidentally typed it in, sometimes I look to see how many active members there are but I rarely read the threads.

The only time I've been back there since this forum started is if someone puts a link up in here referring to something over there- otherwise, I haven't seen the point.

I'm still on HGS, but this is definitely my home forum- all my friends are here.

Personally, I love this forum but I don't understand why anyone would go over there and post anything about this forum. They don't want to come over. People tried to entice them and they resisted. Why stir up trouble and really make it hard for them to ever change to here if they would like. Seems to me SWMS was trying to ruffle some feathers.

Every once in awhile I'll go over to see what is going on and my computer won't stop, 9 times out of 10 it will stop as soon as I start to read something so I didn't even check for a long time until someone here mentioned some sad issues there. I was finally able to leave a couple posts for the people just to say hope all will be well.

I don't mention how it is here because it seems they have decided they want to stay where they are for what ever reason that might be. They say they miss their friends but if their friends are here they don't have to miss them if they come. They don't choose to so that's their decision. It seems pretty dead over there really but I figure if they are happy there who am I to try to change their minds. I'm happy here.

I know it annoys some over there and I'm not encouraging poking them with sticks :innocent:, but every time someone does go over there and post a link, we get more members here. There are still some there who don't know where everyone went and would like to know.

So... on balance, it's not a bad thing. :cowboy: Every once in awhile.

I'm glad you made mention of this website and we're finding new members. But when you taunt people when you already know their feelings on the subject (could they have been more clear?) and then come over here and post how grouchy they are just seems like you're the one who's causing the "drama". Wasn't the thread about your new blanket?
