She has finally arrived!!!!

:banana: As you all know I have been drove up the wall to see PT's baby. Well she has finally decided to make her debut. She is a beautiful solid color foal that is actually going to turn gray like mom. This won't happen until she ages over the years. She should be completely gray by the time she is 6 years old. You all need to come up with some names for this filly. It needs to be a good barn name for her. We will get a poll on the different names and go from there. Also a good registered name as well.
Without further ado here she is.

PT had no trouble. I didn't get to see the actual birth but only missed it by about 15 minutes. She was still lying on the ground when I took the first pic of her. Hope you guys enjoy this.

Yeah I had my vet out though because the umblical cord was still attached until PT stepped on it and broke it. She did a good job and both momma and baby are doing great resting now. I put the foal blanket on her but she sure doesn't fit it. It is way to big for her.

Dam's name: Prancing Timid

If this helps to come up with some names.
The foal goes back to Impressive on the QH side.
Cherokee Maiden who was a national champion on the sire's side

There is a possibility that she could actually be a buckskin. We will have to wait for good Daylight to really see what her color is. The more we look at her pics,we think it is a good possibility. The flash was providing better light than we actually had in the barn. Waiting for Daylight!!

A horse can only have the dun factor if one of the parents is a dun. There is NO WAY to have a dun baby if neither one or both of the parents is a dun. There is a great color website www.duncentralstation.com (http://www.duncentralstation.com) that talks all about color genetics and how there are many dun "look-a-likes" that are not really dun because neither of the parents were dun. It talks about all of the different varieties of dun, and how buckskin, bay, palomino's, and really any other color can seem like a dun, but they are not. I absolutely love this site! It has tons of awesome color facts!

Yeah she came out last night right after the birth and gave shots and wormed mom and checked heartbeat of the filly and dam. Everything is great. She is getting really strong. I went and bought another weight tape she is the smallest foal that Sky has produced. She was probably about 92 lbs at birth but when I put the tape on her today she is 98 lbs and 10 hands tall. If I am right she should mature to 15+ hands. Sire is 15 2 and PT is 15 1. She has rather long legs so she might go taller than that. Once I get a few more names then I will see if Deserae would mind doing another poll for me. I hope I'm not bothering you to much by the pics of her.

She has had another buckskin filly. It was by her palomino stallion. Either way though IMHO I think that she is going to go gray. She looks to much like her mom as a foal and her mom grayed out. Either way Poco and I are extremely happy to have her a part of our barn.

Yeah she scared me a little right after that pic because when I went in to the stall she kept laying there finally mom made her get up. She was just resting but I was able to do a lot with her while she was lying down. I rubbed all over her and she didn't care.

Thanks guys. I am glad that you all are enjoying my little bundle of joy. She is something special. The thing that I like most about her is the fact that my stallion has passed on a blaze to all his foals so far. That is most definitely coming from him. Color mostly comes from the dam.

Thanks Renee. We asked Valerie what color she is. She said she is the same color as her buckskin foal she got out of PT. The registration classified her as a buckskin. She thinks though that she could shed off to buckskin and then gray out.

I don't know about Dottie (CaddoCinnamon) But I really like this one. Only problem is it's too long. Plus everyone keeps calling the foal a "Cutie" and the abbreviation would be QT.(well kinda') I believe the maximum length of a registered name is either 19 or 21 letters AND spaces. If the "Cruiser" were dropped that would be 19 letters and spaces.

I guess what I'm getting at is kinda' naming her "Poco's Impressive QT", But since Dot said y'all could name her, I'll leave it up to y'all. Of course her "barn name" would be QT.Q does follow P. Get it, PT followed by QT!:doh::headscratch:
