I don't know if this is where to put this thread, so WB can move it if need be....:p

I am looking for one of those HUGE rubber balls so Dallas can play with it. He loves those things. We have been to a place that has one and he likes to push it around and bounce it off the fence and just have fun.

Anyone know where I can get one???

I have gotten just the yoga type balls from wal-mart they don't last as long with horses that step on them but if they just kick them around they last quite a while.

Now if you want to spend more on one here you can get a horse tough ball

I've seen the apple scented ones for horses in hardware store. They are little smaller than basketball and have a handle.

My friend gets hers from Toys are Us, they are on line. I think they are around $15. and she said they are pretty strong. I'm not sure if she lets the ball in with the horses if she's not watching them or if it's just to play time in the arena when she can supervise but I know that's where she buys hers and she has one horse that will lay right on the ball and it doesn't explode. The regular exercise balls for people don't hold up to horsey play. I gave my boys one to play with and it lasted all of a day and it was in 3 pieces. There is a real big Jolly Ball, I have the phone # for it somewhere, a friend has one for her horse, the thing is like $40. and I haven't gotten one for my boys yet but I hope to since they love their small Jolly Balls. They loved the big exercise ball too but it just didn't hold up to horsey play time.

Parelli sells one too but the price will make your eyes cross!

No....:innocent: But we have Asda, which is owned by Wal-Mart...:D

We have rednecks! But they get called 'gypsies' or 'gypos' (depends where in Wales you come from ;)). The posh rednecks are called 'chavs'.

Shewasmyshadow....that is the size ball I am looking for! But I don't want to pay the Parelli price.

I haven't seen anything like that at WalMart, maybe I will try Toys R Us and see if they have one.

Thanks everyone.

Pinky, "posh" isn't a term usually applied to rednecks. I think they might consider that fighting words. Kinda like calling them one of them Spice Girls!:p

I have, because I got one to play with when I was younger, a couple matter of fact. Like they are 5.00 a piece or something.

Come in multi colors too.

Countrygirl,
Here is the site that I purchased mine from.
http://www.jakesplacekernriver.com/index.htm

The size is what I wanted but as for durability??? It hasn't broke yet, but I do not leave this in the stall with them. I do however put it in the round pen with them and it survives.
I will say that the ball from Toys R Us looks pretty inviting and very inexpensive.

YOu could also try horsesoccer.com. They have the balls that are larger than the exercise balls. Similar to the photo in the above post. My horses also like the kids "hippity hop" balls with the handle, then they can grab and throw them also but the don't last really long if the horses are rough with them.

I didnt see this post. I live close to this Ranch. I could go pick one up! There much cheaper but I have a feeling Muffin will pop it in his hard dirt pen because it's just a rubber ball.. I will get one of these first and see if he likes it then if he pops it I will get him the other one from the site I posted with the nylon outer shell/case. They say they hold up better then the Parreli and horse soccor balls do. But, then again every site is going to say there ball is the best? I think the one with the shell would hold up better because the rubber "bladder" is pertected inside the case. Who knows? lol I sooo want one!!

I just bought 3 of the 40" balls

The horse love them. The shell is very tough.

I Guess that's why the Equi-Spirit balls are $120 bucks, they can hold a percheron laying and playing with them (2,500 pounds) when the regular rubber balls can only handle 220 pounds.

I guess if you don't think your horse will try to lay on it it's fine to get the cheaper ones. I know Muffin would lay on it, I just know he would so I better just get him the Equi-Spirit soccer ball with the pvc bladder and nylon shell. It has a warrentee too so I guess that helps if he destroys it in less then a month. lol
