My son and I picked up almost a half a bucket (5 gal bucket) of pecans today from our one pecan tree we have.
Im hoping the wifey will make a homeade pecan pie for me ThanksGiving.
She usually does, but this will be the first time with our own pecans we picked. YUMMY
I have a bunch of Black Walnut trees that are loaded with nuts falling all over the ground.
Black Walnuts are very hard to shell, does anybody have any good suggestions on shelling Black walnuts.

Hey Horseless!!!!! over here!!!! Pass me some of those Pea-cans or is it Pekahns (after they are shelled of course).:) My aunt made the most delicious pecan pie that has ever been made, not to take anything away from you lovely bride. Your wife may use the same ole southern receipe my aunt used. LOVE EM.

Black walnuts can be cracked using a 40 pound anvil. Lay them on the driveway and drop the anvil on them. LOL. I don't think you can acutally crack them, you'd just break your drive up. In case of nuclear war the only thing that would be left is cockroaches and black walnuts. I don't know how squirrels chew into those things.
