wow he really has gotten big! He's so cute! I would love to have some goats one day. How much do they eat? Do you just give them hay like horses?

Yep, they eat hay. I feed them the same stuff I give the horses and they do fine on it, but they're picky eaters. They don't clean it up nice like my horses do, they end up wasting a lot. They really like the green, alfalfa type hay better. I feed them both kinds.

Right now we have 9 goats counting Edward Jacob. Three Alpines, one Boer, and five Pygmies. I feed them approximately five flakes of hay morning and night, so about one square bale a day.
They get corn and oats in the morning too. I just use a coffee can to measure and put a couple scoops in a bucket, mix it up, and pour it in their feed pans. They don't really *need* it but they like it, and it's nice for them to get a little extra food during the winter, and when they're pregnant.

Aww they are all so cute. Just love them. EJ has gotten big but still looks like a baby. So when will there be more babies?? Wish I could have a goat. Would have to build a pen.

Thanks, valleyrider.:) You really should get a goat, they're so fun. Well, actually get two because goats don't like living alone, they're definately herd animals and need a companion or they won't be very happy campers.

We had two more kids born yesterday, and more should be arriving soon.:) We have three more pregnant does, and two of them are getting very close. I imagine we'll have more babies in the coming week, if not sooner.
