Well, Kelly and I made it to Georgia today and tomorrow we have the day off before we hit the trail on Thursday. Got a few things to do tomorrow- was wondering if anyone knows of anything interesting near Cumming, GA? Here is our trail journal if anyone wants to keep up with where we are at an all:) I will try to update my journal as often as possible (when we reach towns with internet access)

Dahlonega 45 minutes up 400 - home of me and the first US gold rush. :P Dawsonville is about 25 minutes north, it's the national moonshine capital. :D

Cumming has lots of places to shop and eat, and the best hospital outside of Atlanta in northern GA... most of north GA shuts down after 9-10pm, so soon you're going to be outta luck, haha. Those aside, Cumming only has Booger Hill... which is one of those freaky gravity-trick places where your car rolls up hill. I've never been over there though.

Thanks guys! The weather is bad today; constant rain and a few thunderstorms. They are expecting 2-3 inches! I decided to push back my start date to Saturday in hopes of better weather.

At least you didn't try to start last week, when it snowed 5 inches. :D

Thanks guys! I'm very excited.
Now that I have a little extra time i'll be meeting ALOK for breakfast in the morning :) Definetely looking forward to it! Then later on we will likely be headed to Amacalola Falls while my mom is still around. I'm anxious to get on the trail but am looking forward to the next couple of days and hoping things dry out a bit!:cowboy:
