OK i cant seem to get it posted on here BUT please everyone PLEASE read this !!!!!
http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/flyover.asp
A PATRIOTIC EVENT TRADITIONALLY INTENDED TO HONOR AND PAY TRIBUTE TO OUR VETERANS IS CANCELED BY THE DoD UPON ORDERS FROM THE CaC - OBAMA BECAUSE OF IT'S TIES TO CHRISTIANITY. THIS IS ANOTHER SAD DAY FOR OUR COUNTRY. THIS GUY IS OUT OF CONTROL AND HIS ACTIONS MUST BE STOPPED!

You know, when I first heard the name of this person running for President I thought to myself "This sounds like someone groomed since before birth to infiltrate our country & take over." I then thought that was crazy thinking & shrugged it off. Now I'm beginning to wonder again.

Whats next? Now whatever would make you think that? :p Yes, I didn't vote for him, not because of the name or the party but because I didn't agree with his policies or where I thought they would lead.
Next? I don't even want to know.

Generally speaking, I think that the military should honor as many flyover requests as possible. The pilots have to train anyway, just make it part of their training. And if an event has gone on for a long time, canceling it is usually not a good idea. So, I think the DoD erred in putting its foot down after all these years.
Having said that, I wouldn't read too much into this from the perspective of honoring the veterans. If you read the entire snopes entry, you will see that this group primarily has a specific religious focus (Christianity), and we do value keeping specific religious references separate from federal government appearances in the US.
The reason why I think it's a poor idea to cancel an appearance like this is because I don't see what we can really gain from it (it costs a lot to do a flyover, but they have to fly those planes often anyway), and canceling the flyover is sure to upset many, as we are seeing right here.

I agree. It wasnt his name, color(duh hu?), or religion for me.
While I dont get heavy into politics(another duh hu?)I do look into elections when they are coming up. This was one guy I would NEVER of wanted in office.
He talked more smack(IMO)than ole cowboy wearing, women awwing over him, president.
While I didnt vote for him, he did a way better job than the current dumb @s.. (IMO)
There is no reason the fly over cant happen. Next, they wont let soldiers fire their 21 gun salute at funerals. That would just tork me, as I was on the funeral team, and many a soldiers were honored with the 21 gun salute.

No one can say the :cowboy: didn't have pride in his country.
What did you do on the funeral team, Vicklynn?

Yes he did, and after election he changed my thinking. I liked him.
I was on firing squad. I loved it. Honoring those men and women.
The gun salutes, and Taps...indescribable pride and honor. If you make it through a funeral managing to keep your eyes from dripping, it all ends there.
That is a very special assignment, Vicky. I'm proud of you.
